I believe that counseling helps understand who you are and where you want to go today and in the future. As a counselor, I will provide you with an understanding of coping skills and tools as well as how to utilize them. Together, we will navigate through life's journeys. I have worked with individuals and families in a variety of settings for 10 years using various treatment modalities that promise self-care, self-recognition, and future self. I have worked with adolescents, young adults, adults, and the geriatric population through different transitions in life.

Therapy doesn't have to last forever but the benefits will. Most issues people face are relational in nature. There are emotions and behaviors that are problematic. These might include feelings of shame, discontentment, apathy, anger or even numbness. The behaviors might range from avoidance to compulsive and addictive. Are you experiencing problems with yourself or others? In therapy, you'll learn to be challenged and gain tools to handle difficult feelings while making decisions to do the hard work to change behaviors.

Stephanie “Stevie” James is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and she is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Stevie has treated patients from 7 to 60 plus years of age in the following areas: ADD/ADHD, addiction, anxiety, behavioral issues, career counseling, codependency, depression, infertility, marriage, mutism and panic disorders, pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum, relationship issues, OCD, PTSD, and trauma. Stevie received her Master of Arts in School Counseling from Eastern Michigan University and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.

Beginning the process of change can be an intimidating and often stressful endeavor. My goal is to provide an encouraging and warm environment that promotes change and insight. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma and addiction. From an integrated therapeutic approach that caters to a client’s specific needs, I help my clients to not only focus on reducing symptoms and identifying problematic thinking, but to also explore and heal the underlying issues, emotions, and origins of their presenting concerns. I truly believe in the therapeutic process and it’s ability to facilitate sustainable change.

I take an individual and strengths-based approach to therapy, and specialize in working with adults who deal with trauma, insomnia, depression, substance use disorders, and anxiety. I hope to cultivate an accepting and empowering environment where you can feel supported and challenged to progress. I hope to give you practical help in getting to your goals, and provide feedback and exercises to work on outside of our time together, increasing the size of your tool kit to deal with life stressors and mental health challenges.

Sometimes these opportunities are not clear to the person because the trauma, personal or relational difficulty, fear, depression, or anxiety being experienced can be so overwhelming that one's ability to take action is clouded. In my work, I have become very mindful of the resiliency of the human spirit. I have witnessed this resiliency in times of trauma, pain, and loss. My goal is to provide you with a safe space to address your concerns.

Haili Gabris is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 6 years of professional experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, including social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, health anxiety, selective mutism, and phobias. She has also worked with depression and trauma, which often presents themselves with other disorders. Haili graduated from Western Michigan University, earning her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology.
