Olivia Williams, PhD, LPCA is a developmental psychologist and is a licensed clinical mental health counselor in Kentucky specializing in anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, and children & adolescent counseling. I have experience in a vast range of mental health specialties and have experience with different populations. I utilize an approach based on individualized needs, but some common approaches include person-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Using personalized approaches allows me to explore all areas that may be impacting one’s overall wellbeing.

I have been working as a therapist since 2008 and enjoy helping people understand the role of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in creating a life worth living for themselves. Relationships are important for coping with day to day stressors. One that often gets neglected is the personal relationship an individual has with his or herself. I enjoy helping people identify their strengths and define themselves by these qualities.

I use Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients cope with a myriad of things, include chronic issues, as they both teach coping skills and aid in adapting to situations that are immutable. ACT helps clients learn how to cope with difficult emotions: once a client is able to process the idea that thoughts and feelings are affected by the events they experience, the people they meet and the environment they live in, they are better able to learn how to manage emotions and situations. Using ACT and CBT we are able to work together to identify and then challenge these thought patterns.
