Dr. Ami Owen received her undergraduate degree in Social Science and a minor in Psychology. She received her Master’s in General Family Therapy with an advanced emphasis on families and trauma. Dr. Owen also received a Doctorate in Counseling and is a Clinically Certified Trauma Professional. She is licensed in UT, ID, WA, AZ, TX, FL, CA, and is a nationally approved supervisor through the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). She takes delight in mentoring therapists on the complexities of family systems and consults with providers across the country to improve systems approaches.

Hello, I'm Tricia and I have been in clinical practice for 20 years, specializing in child and family work, crisis work and substance use treatment. My focus is to help children and adults heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. To achieve this, I provide a neutral safe space, listen to your concerns, and customize a treatment plan that's specific to you. I'm looking forward to connecting with you and helping you work through any challenges you may be facing.

My approach to counseling involves a direct and socratic style, employing various cognitive-behavioral methods to challenge clients and equip them with enduring tools for success. I’m dedicated to helping clients understand that our well-being is intricately linked to our beliefs and choices as we strive to fulfill our fundamental needs for survival, love, importance, and variety. I am trained in the "Best-Practice" and "Evidence-Based" trauma modality, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing. I enjoy treating people with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders, Domestic Abuse, Panic, Phobia's and Mood Disorders. It is my goal to educate and equip all my clients with tools that will empower them to improve their mental health. I enjoy working with people who are going through shame. I believe that shame is something that is widely prevalent today, but due to the very nature of shame we are too fearful to talk about it or let it slip that we are struggling with who we are.
