My practice focuses on psychological evaluations for children (7 and older), adolescents, adults, and seniors. Some reasons folks seek my help is to assess for autism, intellectual deficits, learning disorders, ADHD, as well as to address possible depression/anxiety that often accompany these conditions. My approach is to learn about the whole person rather than rely on tests alone to produce an evaluation best suited to your needs.

Are you an adult with autism? Me too! Feel Anxious? Anxiety can be so overwhelming! Tired of masking? Ruminating thoughts? Feeling like nothing is going right? Having a hard time focusing? Out of sync in your relationship? Yep! Anxiety can do that! How would your life look if you were able to stop all of the internal chatter going on in your mind? Sound like it's impossible? Believe it or not, this IS possible; you CAN stop the internal chatter and start feeling more like yourself. Anxiety is not you; it is a feeling you are going through, and sometimes, it can hang around longer than you want it to. Ready to send it packing?

I bring a warm and intuitive approach to complement 20+ years of clinical experience, so you can expect to feel seen and heard while you open up to the therapeutic process. I address the impact that neurodiversity has on individuals, couples & families. Autistic & ADHD clients' benefit and thrive from having this awareness in the therapy room.

Are you here because you feel called? Perhaps you’re looking to explore unlived potential, let go of patterns that no longer work, or process something that’s been on your mind for as long as you can remember. At the same time, you may feel stuck, anxious, ambivalent, or even resistant. Answering the call to live an examined life is a courageous act. Further, neuroscience has proven we all have the capacity for change, regardless of age. I’m here to act as a guide and accompany you on your journey; to listen deeply, to hold space for you, and to ask meaningful questions that empower you to awaken and embody your own inner healer.

In 2020, I opened a private practice. I was blessed it grew to full capacity but dealt with sadness of turning people away due to no space. Frequently people shared their difficulties with finding therapy. I am tired of people and families, who are suffering emotionally not getting the help they need. So, I put together a group of several skilled clinicians. We operate by providing a therapy environment that is confidential and emotionally safe. We’re dedicated to making people feel comfortable and understood when discussing the most sensitive issues. Our goal is to ensure support that is empathetic and non-judgmental.

I specialize in child behavior difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, depression, and anxiety.
Welcome to my practice! I feel privileged to be in a position to guide people through various problems, in search of solutions and geared toward healthy living. I have learned that the most important component to creating a healthy therapeutic process is the meaningful relationships that we create along the way. I currently utilize a strength-based approach in my work with children, adolescence, and families-the focus of the work is identifying and building from the strengths of the individual. I value the collaborative effort that goes into developing a treatment plan; collaboration allows us to experience movement toward pathways of transformation.

I've worked with issues ranging from "Failure to Launch" and "Sunday Scaries" to bipolar disorder, the autism spectrum, and ADHD.
It can be hard to make the decision to start therapy, and equally as hard to stick to it. This is one of the primary reasons I became a therapist, to help those who’ve struggled with conventional methods. My experience has had a big impact on how I’ve structured clinical practice, leading me to throw the proverbial couch out the window and go with a more direct, accountability-based approach. Whether you’re working on processing a negative self-image, relationship difficulty, career stressors, or other symptoms related to anxiety or depression, we’ll always be working to build mindfulness, purpose, and intention towards your goals.

Everyone deserves to feel balanced and deserves to have a safe space to let go and share. Nobody should ever feel alone or always have to be “the strong one”. I use an eclectic model- combining pieces of CBT, SFBT, EMDR and Mindfulness-Based Practices and customize them to fit the person in front of me. I am listening, taking it all in, and deciding which pieces may be of most help to you and your life. I specialize in working with creatives and neurodivergent humans. I go above and beyond to provide the best care for my clients free of judgement. (On a short waitlist but scheduling EMDR intensives and Autism/ADHD Assessments).

Autism Therapists

What is the most effective treatment for autism?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has come to be considered the standard treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder, and research has confirmed its effectiveness for many children. Therapists trained in ABA techniques work with children (and their parents) on developing social skills, communication and learning abilities, and everyday habits of hygiene and grooming. The clinician will tailor their program to the child’s particular need but the overarching goal will be to help them advance as far as possible toward independence based on their level of symptoms and decrease the need for additional special services. Families should seek a mental health professional specifically trained in ABA, and holding special certification in the technique, who has extensive experience not only with the approach but in using it with children with the same level of symptoms as the child who needs care.

How does ABA work?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, which typically focus on positive reinforcement, can be intensive, lasting two or more hours several times a week, and continuing for two years or more. Therapists can also be expected to ask parents to take an active role in reinforcing lessons. Research has found that the technique can lead to major improvements that decrease the need for additional special services.

How does treatment for autism work?

Therapy sessions based on Applied Behavior Analysis will likely be frequent, intensive, and highly structured. After a thorough assessment, a therapist will help a child understand and develop skills in a range of areas, including communication, motor skills, social skills, self-care, play, and academic skills, as well as routines of daily living like hygiene. Typically, the therapist will help a child break down the components of a behavior—often referred to as the antecedent (what prompts an action), the behavior, and the consequence(what immediately follows)—and then reward the child at every step, while also asking parents to reinforce the lessons, and the rewards, throughout the day. This core therapy may be supplemented by occupational or speech therapy, and antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anticonvulsants may be prescribed to address specific severe symptoms.

How long does therapy for autism take?

Some people with autism spectrum disorder may be engaged in some level of therapy for many years, but research shows that treatment will be most effective if it is begun early and delivered intensively. When therapy begins by age 3, children tend to be better able to grasp and adopt the skills needed to manage everyday life, including attending school and establishing social relationships. This type of early-intervention treatment regimen is highly structured, typically involving 20 to 40 hours of one-on-one therapy per week, along with additional hours of engagement managed by parents, for a period of two years or more, although the duration of treatment is dependent on the child’s level of symptoms and pace of progress.
