It you're reading this then you're taking the first step to getting help with how you're living your life. I find that most people who seek therapy are struggling with some pain or conflict they cannot overcome with the skills and support currently present in their lives. Talking to a trained professional about your troubles can bring relief and help you to make changes. I work with individuals and couples to help them overcome obstacles in their lives such as unrealized potential, feelings of being overwhelmed or hopeless, relationship troubles, constant stress, and self-destructive behaviors.

Welcome to Creative Guidance, PLLC. I believe that our ability to stay in the moment, especially when things are difficult, can be tough. Wanting to escape the present moment is a normal human response. When we are able to remain present, that is where healing, wisdom and change truly lies. When we can stay with what we are feeling and experiencing, both good and challenging, we are then awake and empowered to change our lives. I am here to help you become present and unfold the YOU that has always been there from the start.

I believe that you already contain a deep power for healing inside. Together with kindness and curiosity, we will create a safe and accepting space where all aspects of you are welcome. Our journey will be one of shared exploration and discovery. I am here to guide and support you along the way. Our work will originate in the here and now—what is present in your life currently, learning to meet what shows up with care and compassion. I love counseling those in transition— be that career, gender, or otherwise and draw from feminist, existential, Buddhist, and somatic frameworks and work from a trauma-informed lens.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and Licensed Mental Health Professional in the State of Washington My training primarily comes from my time obtaining my Masters in Science from Seattle Pacific University. While in school I specialized in Narrative therapy as well as various other Post-Modern therapies. I have wide and varied experience ranging from working with clients in elementary schools to clients in jail, and everyone in between. Sometimes I joke that I have seen clients for every part of the DSM, but of course that's not true, I am still missing two diagnoses.

I am a Licensed Psychologist with over 40 years of experience. My greatest strength as a therapist is helping clients to be aware of what they feel and to make decisions about how they are going to express those feelings in their daily living. I am a highly interactive therapist, guiding exploration within a session, challenging restrictive beliefs and unproductive behaviors clients may have held since childhood, and offering direction for behavior beyond the session. My book, "The Freedom Handbook; How Being True To Yourself Can Set You Free" was published in 2021.

I believe that we are all made for relationship with one another. Relationships are where we learn about love, comfort, hope, courage, joy, and empathy. They are also where we unfortunately learn about betrayal, fear, rejection, abandonment, abuse, and pain. These experiences and connections with others shape us into who we are. They are also the place where real change and healing can happen. I hope to come alongside you as an empathetic and trustworthy listener to help you make sense of unhealthy patterns that have kept you stuck and to provide real hope, growth, and change in the context of healthy relationship.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
