I specialize in counseling Deaf and hard of hearing adults ages 18 and up. I am fluent in American Sign Language. I also provide counseling to CODAs and ASL interpreters. As a therapist with more than 30 years of experience, I can help you work through your life challenges, whether it may be coping with depression, anxiety, grief or other life issues. In my 25 years of practice I have helped adults, children and teens overcome a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, anger problems and alcohol/drug addictions using traditional (cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy) and non-traditional (Eastern philosophy and meditation, and art therapy) methods. I believe that all people have the ability to help themselves, but sometimes due to overwhelming life circumstances, hardships, and crises; they become "stuck."

Dr. Judith (Judy) Ann Upshaw is a licensed substance use therapist who specializes in the treatment of substance and behavioral abuse disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, and trauma. She practices individual, group, family, and couples therapists. Dr. Upshaw received a M. Ed. in Psycho-educational Processes from Temple University, and a Ed. D. in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University. She takes an active person-centered approach to therapy and makes room for personal exploration, questioning, and collaborative problem solving.

The adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and the Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Therapy (IOP) and Structured Outpatient Program (SOP) programs at Adventist Healthcare offer evidence-based group therapy to folks whose mental illness or substance use can't be managed with outpatient therapy alone. We typically serve clients who need more support than they would receive in outpatient individual therapy, but do not need a restrictive environment such as inpatient psych.

Meghan has extensive experience working in the field of mental health and substance use treatment. Meghan has worked with a variety of issues including: addiction, anxiety, depression, divorce, infidelity, chronic illness, grief, trauma, low self- esteem, life coaching, parenting, and stress. Meghan also works with a nurse practitioner to assist clients with medication management, along with several other therapists in her practice. Meghan understands the importance of utilizing a team approach along with resources as part of the therapeutic process and is very familiar with a variety of support services in the area.
