I'm Michael Librie, Psy.D, LCSW-C, LICSW. I'm a Psychotherapist with over 35 years experience, qualified to provide integrative psychotherapy, combining techniques from various therapeutic schools to suit the needs of the client. I am delivering therapy virtually at this time in Maryland, Washington, DC and North Carolina. My approach combines traditional dynamic psychotherapy with awareness and internal inquiry processes. I am a Clinical Psychologist and Organizational Consultant. In private practice for 32 years, I see adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My therapeutic style combines family systems, psycho-dynamic theory, and brain-based/cognitive behavioral therapy to promote change. To be effective, I believe a therapist must build trusting relationships and see each client as a unique person in their own complex environment. I provide training and staff development to child welfare and mental health programs, teach Family Therapy and Clinical Assessment at The University of Maryland School of Social Work, and serve on the editorial board of the Journal of Family Strengths.

I am a masters prepared psychotherapist with three years of experience in therapy. I have a great deal of experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community and the Polyamorous/Non-monogamous community, and I specialize in family and couples therapy, along with sex therapy.

Dr. Walton is dedicated to working with communities, organizations, and individuals to develop applied solutions to challenges affecting vulnerable and marginalized populations. Her professional experience includes working within international humanitarian organizations, the legal arena and doing this work living on every continent except Antarctica. Dr. Walton is passionate about systems and the people who function in them. She is a wife, a mother, a caregiver and a daughter of immigrants.
