I provide individual, couples, and family therapy sessions.
My philosophy is to take care of the WHOLE PERSON on my couch or in the comfy chair across from me. I don't just see your "issue" or "problem" — I see you as a full and complete human who is struggling and needs some help. We all need help at times. I act as a sounding board and guide. Not a critic or a savior, but a person and your equal, to help you discover better ways of trying life a bit differently. My clients are highly motivated to invite positive change into their lives, and I thrive off using that energy to help them and YOU achieve ultimate success.

Therapy is a great way to process relationship issues, life transitions, and everyday stressors.
There is grace and understanding for those who are suffering and trying to better themselves. We are all human and we all will experience a level of suffering. I will meet you where you are at in your journey of life and we will work through it together.

I offer help with: Parenting Issues Couples Counseling Blended Families Post - Adoption Therapy Family Relationship Issues.
There are times in our lives when we need help. Life experiences require us to make the decision to seek guidance from outside our immediate family and friends. Counseling can provide much needed support and intervention in times of crises or with chronic issues that last a lifetime. Don't consider it a weakness but a strength to take that step to be the best possible individual or family you can be.

I enjoy and have experience working with individuals, couples and families.
Life can be difficult. I invite you into a safe and caring environment to address the specific needs and challenges you are facing. I view therapy as a sacred process where one is empowered, heard and supported. This process comes from a authentic professional relationship that is established between therapist and client. Through this process of exploration one can gain insight into problems, develop strategies with life challenges and overcome struggles that have been overwhelming. If you don't know what to do and are looking for hope I encourage you to contact me.

I have experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families with a wide variety of concerns, including: emotion regulation, suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviors, addiction, relationship problems, anxiety, and depression.
Many clients come to therapy with a fear they will be judged and misunderstood. I believe in the social work value of upholding the dignity and worth of my clients. I approach therapy by balancing validation and change; it is essential that a client feels both affirmed and challenged. I believe all people are doing the best they can and can do better. My vocation is to help people find their own life worth living.

Special areas of interest include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and couples counseling.
The Journey of life is one that is often filled with both moments of joy and moments of sorrow. Unfortunately for some, these moments of sorrow are either endured alone or leave couples and family members feeling as if there are no options. As a therapist I feel honored to have the opportunity to offer assistance to individual, couples, and families who are feeling stuck in the sorrows of life. And to not only present options to the struggles of life, but to also walk alongside your journey of life.

As a licensed professional mental health counselor, I strive to help couples, families and individuals find the resources to work together, communicate and find the harmonious balance that will foster a healthy relationship in a marriage or family setting. Couples and families who are experiencing distress often play the "blame game" and experience difficulty in communication. As a counselor and third party, I strive to help clients listen to each other, find healthy communication techniques, and accept responsibility for their roles in the relationship in turn encouraging love and respect to grow within the family system.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
