After 26 years of practice I see my ideal client as one who is ready for change. Ultimately, life is the method by which we grow. I work with a variety of tools to meet each client where they are. I have faith that we can all meet the challenges within ourselves and in life and find the inner capacity to move forward. My clients have ranged from those healing from a recent or historical trauma to those wanting life coaching. I have a holistic/systemic vision of my clients and enjoy working with body, mind spirit when appropriate.

Now is the time to take up space: In life, there are few places where we can be our authentic self and it takes immense courage to take up the space we deserve. Here, I welcome you to be all of who you are, while helping you explore all that you can be. You may be wondering if you are capable of taking this step, and the answer is YES! It may take you out of your comfort zone, but you are not alone once you step outside of it. Sometimes we need additional support to reach our potential and navigate change, and it is my honor to be a helping hand in your life.

It can be hard to change our habits and ways of relating with ourselves and with others even when old patterns are causing significant emotional pain. For real change to take place, something beyond motivation and a commitment to change is often needed. What can make a real difference involves finding a receptive person and an accepting environment that fosters a deeper understanding of one's self. I strive to provide such a receptive and safe environment to my clients with the hope that they feel listened to, understood, and recognized in their desires to get to know themselves, to connect with others and to feel alive in the world

With over 20 years of experience as a licensed mental health professional, I work primarily with individuals and couples 18 years old and older, focusing on such challenges as: mood disorders, anxiety disorders, relationship issues, trauma, and concerns around life stressors.
When a particular area of life is less rewarding or is problematic, you may seek assistance rediscovering your path to mental health. Understanding that therapy is more likely to be helpful when you feel comfortable with your therapist, and hopeful about the therapy, my approach emphasizes accessing each person’s unique strengths and resources in order to facilitate growth, new learning, and fulfillment. I use a person-centered integrative approach drawing from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic theories to work collaboratively with you toward mutually agreed-upon goals.

With over 30 years of experience to offer, I'm pleased to say that most of my clients have been referred by their friends who are or have been clients. When mutual respect develops, it ensures the trust and comfort needed to address and resolve most problems. I have always felt blessed and privileged to be a therapist and to sit with someone who is grappling with some of the most meaningful aspects of their lives. When you contact me, I'll be happy to honestly explore whether or not this will be a good therapeutic relationship.

Finding the right therapist is the most important part of the therapeutic relationship.
I believe that everyone has the capacity to accomplish their goals. My role is to help you uncover and understand the obstacles and trauma that are getting in the way of achieving what you desire, and then help you tap into your inner resources to succeed. With empathy and authenticity, I work alongside my clients to promote healing and discovery of their power to change. Whether you are experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, grief and loss; problems with relationships, parenting, or self-esteem; or a general sense of disconnectedness – whatever it is – I recognize that therapy is self-work, and it's not easy.

They are often experiencing relationship difficulties or suffering from the disease of addiction.
I work with clients from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, who have all come to a shared realization: that their way of living is no longer working for them. Whether they are struggling with addiction or depression or find themselves experiencing relationship difficulties, they all aspire to something new; something more. Together we identify the nature of their particular dissatisfaction, discover how they got there, and develop a more desirable and sustainable reality. I believe that my role is to be a nonjudgmental companion to my clients on their unique journey of self-discovery and profound change.

Life is a journey consisting of decisions about which route to take and who to ask for directions. Each of us encounter roadblocks like relationship issues, significant loss, or major life transitions. Sometimes, we find ourselves traveling this path with fears, anxieties, insecurities, and shame. If you have noticed these roadblocks then you are reading this at the right time, because I am committed to being with you on your unique, journey. As you contemplate whether individual therapy could be beneficial for you, consider whether you are fulfilled in your work, in your connection to others, or through your capacity to recharge.

I believe people have the ability and strength to heal and change, sometimes we just need a little help in getting there. Through an integrative approach, I help clients recognize their strengths, and explore their patterns to help them realize their full potential. I believe that the core of therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship - my practice style is warm and empathic - I truly enjoy getting to know my clients, and I believe the relationship between therapist and client is essential in change.

I provide psychotherapy to individuals and couples who often describe feeling stuck, disappointed or unfulfilled, and despite their best efforts to cope, continue to experience distress in their personal or professional life. Together, we look at the concerns and reactions that contribute to vulnerability, sadness or excessive worry.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
