I’m a bilingual (Mandarin) Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adolescents and adults, experiencing anxiety, depression, burning out, and other unstable moods. I was born and raised in Beijing, China, and moved to Texas when I was 18 years old. I have been studying and working in Texas for more than 10 years, which makes me have a better understanding of the cultures on both sides. I am passionate about Logotherapy, which helps people focus on the future and on their ability to endure hardship and suffering through find personal meaning in life.

I consult with individuals, couples, families, and businesses. This includes problems related to relationships, divorce, children, anxiety, depression, aging parents, or ongoing conflicts in business. I also work with adolescents in wilderness environments for brief periods of time.

We have a few therapists to choose from. Michelle Blank is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in Anxiety, Substance-Abuse, and Trauma. She works with adult individuals that are 18+. She has night and weekend hours available. Eric Rothe specializes in substance abuse and trauma. He works with 18+ individuals. Pat Keaton is bi-lingual in Spanish and English and works with individuals 18+ and couples. Pat specializes in trauma, substance abuse, and life transitions.

Clients develop decisionmaking skills so that they are more capable of solving problems for themselves when our work is done. They often know my opinions about issues because we engage with each other in a mutually respectful and direct manner. We talk about their Feelings, Thoughts, and Behaviors. I encourage and teach clients to practice good Physical and Emotional Self Care. I accept most insurances.

I have several years of experience working in an inpatient psychiatric facility where I had the opportunity to become familiar working with patients with serious cases of Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse Disorders as well as Psychotic disorders.

Personally, I am a mom of 3 small children who is married to a firefighter and trying to balance work, family, and personal life. I understand that life can feel like a lot at times and relate to other people who are doing the best they can! Professionally, I have always worked in education and mental health. I have taught kindergarten, junior high, intermediate grades, and focused on special education. I have also worked as a school counselor, and maintain my school counselor license. In my time as a mental health therapist, I have really enjoyed working with a diverse population.

My clinical approach to counseling is person centered which includes respect and sincerity to each client. Among the many positive feedbacks I receive is non-judgmental, opened minded, warm and I offer a safe environment to allow sharing thoughts and feelings from where we can begin the healing process. I respect cultural differences and value each client as a unique individual.

Dr. Billingsley is a Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years of professional experience in a wide variety of practice settings, with all age groups, and utilizing numerous treatment and assessment modalities. He has taught both Psychopathology and Psychotherapy at the University level. He currently restricts his practice to consultation and psychotherapy with adults.
