Sexual Addictions & Trauma affects everyone in the Family. Betrayal Trauma is a natural response to secrets & lying. It must be treated as primary for the relationship to heal. Many families experience Multiple Generations of Addictions, Abuse & Neglect. Family participation is strongly encouraged but not required. Couples & Families are often in crisis from a lack of support during discovery & disclosure of Sexual Addictions. Full Disclosure is encouraged in a safe, structured process with support. Thanks for looking at my profile. I recently changed my focus to working more with adoptive parents as well as teen and adult adopted persons. As an adoptive parent myself, I have focused for the last nine years on education and training that has made me a more adoption competent therapist and parent. My approach to helping youth and teens overcome the symptoms they are experiencing begins with teaching them how to identify and express emotions. I utilize tools from Violet Oaklander’s work to teach youth how to express themselves, which leads to a greater understanding of what they are feeling in the moment. The follow-on effect is greater emotional regulation and communication of their needs. I help youth regulate their emotions by teaching mindfulness. Through mindfulness and focusing on the present moment, youth and teens feel relief from anticipatory anxiety, and depression from events in the past.

As a child and family therapist, I focus my services on working with adolescents, adults, and families. It's my goal to help you achieve healing and strength through emotional support, unconditional regard, and specialized techniques. I am a proactive and hands-on therapist. My first and most important priority is to make you feel safe and understood in my office. I work with a solution focused framework, which means that we will set goals and work hard to achieve them in a reasonable amount of time.

I value the unique experiences and narratives that an individual brings to their therapeutic process and celebrate the willingness to lean into the often-difficult work that therapy can elicit.
