I offer Christian counseling for a variety of life's challenges such as grief, depression, anxiety, anger management, school adjustment, ADHD, as well as other issues that may be causing a disruption in a young person's well-being and quality of life.

One of the goals of counseling is to gain knowledge and insight into problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, and relationship issues. I believe that a person can come into the knowledge of self to regain control, motivation, and self-worth to reach their full potential. In this I believe in establishing realistic and achievable goals for individuals and families that will bring forth true freedom. I incorporate several therapeutic techniques and interventions that are designed for the individual client that includes but not limited to; person centered, brief solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

The purpose of therapy is to restore the client to a healthy state of life by helping to remove barriers that may hinder this process. I specialize in the mental health care of children, adults, couples and families. My services include individual, group, marriage counseling and family therapy. Parent training, workshops, play therapy and prevention groups are also offered. I have twenty years experience working within the field of mental health. I utilize a number of therapeutic techniques and interventions that are tailored to the the client. I'm an Independent Assessor, Clinical Supervisor, mentor and consultant.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Board Approved Clinical Supervisor and a Certified- School Social Work Specialist. For the last 24 years, I have welcomed the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, and elderly through empowering, advocating, educating and facilitating services to assist them in reaching their goals. I have experience working with behavioral disorders, anxiety, depression, school related issues, victims of abuse and neglect, mood disorders, childhood disorders, at-risk youth, anger management, emotional distress, and Employee Assistance Program matters.

I specialize in the assessment and treatment of learning difficulties, including those caused by AD/HD. My approach to academic difficulties goes beyond the limited information contained in a diagnosis. I identify the specific causes of learning problems that can be targeted with academic therapy or accommodations in the classroom. I provide detailed interventions and recommendations that target specific cognitive processes (e.g., working memory, processing speed, planning, organization, etc.), higher level language and comprehension skills, and basic academic skills required for efficient learning. I use the latest research on individual differences to tailor interventions.

For over 40 + years I have been an advocate for children and families in need of mental health services. It has been gratifying to provide a milieu of services that has effectively met the needs of my clients. The knowledge I have acquired has been recognized by the Office of Juvenile Justice, Department of Children and Family Services, and Family Roads as a sound clinical practice. I have successfully implemented Parenting and Fathering Models which have had a micro and macro impact on service delivery in Louisiana.
