As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over six years of experience, I have had the privilege of helping strong individuals on their journey to live their best life. Many have been coping with substance abuse, depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder, personality disorders, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, panic attacks, chronic pain, co-occuring disorders, low self-worth, codependency and phobias. Johnson, LPC-S, NCC, LAC, CCS, holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern University and A&M College and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, LA. Jantrell has been counseling professionally for 6 years and provides clinical supervision to Master level interns, PLPCs and Counselors in Training (CITs). Jantrell believes that the counselor-client relationship is essential to effective counseling and views herself as a change agent in both the mental health and addiction counseling fields.

Counseling is not just an educational endeavor for me, it is my true life’s passion. As my primary spiritual/natural gift, my purpose on earth is to utilize my counseling skills to serve others in any capacity that I can. I work with clients around issues of sexual dysfunction, pain, and low desire. I also specialize in working with marginalized sexualities and relationships, such as non-monogamy, kink, and LGBTQIA+. Sexuality is an integral part of who we are as human beings. It can be one of the greatest sources for pleasure and connection. However, that pleasure and connection can be blocked by things like shame, fear, grief, health issues, pain, and loss. I believe therapy can help clients create positive changes while building healthy narratives around intimacy, relationships, and gender.

We work with adults and couples to assist people with choosing solutions that help them improve their relationships by changing their behavior. We help clients look at their situations and problems as opportunities to explore their choices to work toward staying on track by meeting their goals in order to enhance their lives.
