Dr. Rose is experienced in therapy with seniors, adults, couples, children and infants; as well as, the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD, Anxiety & Mood Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Learning Disabilities in adults, teens and children. Dr. Rose has experience: completing comprehensive psychological evaluations for individuals ages birth through adulthood. She has provided services to adults, teens and children in residential drug treatment. She evaluates the development of infants, toddlers and preschool age children. Dr. Rose is a Trainer for the Statewide Autism and Resources Training Project (START). Dr. Rose has worked as a Psychologist for more than 25 years.

I am Dr. Thomasine T. Wortham (Dr. T), founder and clinical director of Grace Counseling Services, a full-service agency that is dedicated to meeting the needs of all clients in a professional and ethical manner. During my over 30 years of clinical practice, I have served clients suffering from various forms of distress, including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chemical dependency, work-related stress, and many others. Erica Miller is a graduate of the Michigan School of Psychology where she earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is also a graduate of Wayne State University where she earned a master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. Erica has developed a passion for working with teens and adults; particularly women experiencing depression, anxiety, and major life changes. Erica describes herself as a compassionate clinician who possesses a warm therapeutic style and facilitates healing for individuals utilizing a holistic, integrative, and person-centered approach.

We are accepting new patients. Therapy is here to help you or a loved one get through the ups and downs of life. There are times we will need someone to guide us through some of the most personal and painful situations we’ve experienced; such as the loss of a loved one or past trauma. There will also be times we may need a neutral party to discuss family or personal issues, or life changes in general. This is where a therapist is able to help us see ourselves more clearly, find answers, learn coping skills, and learn to make better decisions. Understanding that we do not live in a bubble and that many things can affect our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors is the basis of how I approach therapy. Instead of focusing on the problem, my focus in therapy is on the strengths of a family, couple, or individual, which can lead to a solution-focused collaboration between the therapist and client(s). I work to help you recognize your true emotions that may be hiding behind initial reactions of defensiveness or anger. Together, we can identify maladaptive patterns of behavior that may be contributing to symptoms of depression or anxiety, or that may be creating barriers to communication. Identification of these patterns provides the opportunity to change them and ultimately find more joy in experiences, intimacy in relationships, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Susan Carsten is a Limited Master Social Worker in Michigan who has been practicing since 2000. She obtained a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University. Susan uses empathy and compassion to help people realize and use their strengths to help them address barriers and stressors that they are experiencing. She specializes in treating Anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Grief and Loss, and PTSD. Outside of work, Susan loves taking a walk in nature, reading, singing, and watching all sports.

As a sex therapist, I am trained to address sexual health issues and concerns. Often, we hold stigma around the topic of sex, but many mental health concerns can lead to sexual concerns, just as sexual health concerns can lead to mental health concerns. I offer a sex-positive approach and work with a variety of concerns and sexual minority populations. Whether your concern is a sexual dysfunction, needing gender-affirming care, dealing with relationship issues (including polyamory), exploring more about yourself sexually, discovering new kinks, or just needing someone to talk to, I am here to provide a safe and healing environment.

Bariatric Psychological Evaluations and Therapy (Michigan Residents Only): The Center for Psychological Well-Being specializes in psychological factors related to bariatric surgery and weight loss. We provide evaluations and therapy for patients who are preparing for bariatric surgery or who have had bariatric surgery. Evaluations and therapy can be done virtually or in person. We are compassionate about the battles and struggles; emotional, physical, and psychological, surrounding obesity. Our goal is to educate clients on the psychological aspects of bariatric surgery and assist them with any difficulties before and after surgery.

Life can be challenging, confusing, and beautiful all at once. I have experience as an oncology outpatient clinical social worker, a hospice social worker, and an Area Agency on Aging 1-B Support Coordinator. Through these experiences, I supported those living with anxiety, depression, and going through life transitions. I am also passionate about helping young adults and children navigate life circumstances.

I enjoy working with clients of all walks of life. Clients present with a variety of different issues, but all humans want to live full and happy lives, with dignity, respect, and on their terms. Helping clients develop greater insight about themselves and the world in which they live is central to their overall well-being and success. Empowering individuals to recognize and live up to their full potential is incredibly fulfilling and inspiring. Assisting people in their pursuit to heal and thrive has been my greatest privilege.

Most often I find that my clients just want a safe person to trust who is able to kindly challenge them when needed while offering a fresh perspective to their own thinking.
