I work with individuals and couples who are struggling with many concerns such as depression, anxiety and relationship issues. I believe that the therapist and client relationship is the most important aspect of positive outcome and I invite people to come in and discuss their concerns.

As a trauma-focused eclectic therapist, I utilize a broad range of therapeutic approaches in order to best meet the needs of my clients. I specialize in trauma recovery. The majority of my clients struggle with the effects of PTSD, C-PTSD, and other anxiety-based disorders. My goal is to empower YOU to find solutions to your concerns. Christin DeCoito, was born and raised in Hilo where she grew passionate about helping others in her community. She graduated from Kamehameha Schools Hawaii, she later received her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UH Hilo. She ventured a little ways out of Hilo, where she currently lives on the Hamakua coast with her loving family and growing two little boys. Christins experience stems from working directly with students as a school based behavioral health specialist since 2017.

Petra Parvati Meedt, MS, MA is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern offering telehealth therapy for individuals, couples, and families in English and Spanish. Additionally, to being a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern in Hawaii, she is a licensed psychologist in Puerto Rico, Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) in Texas, and a Clinical Hypnotherapist and certified Yoga Teacher. Her professional training includes a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Interamerican University, Puerto Rico, specialized in Family therapy and a second master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Freiburg in Germany.

Life can be scary and uncertain. Especially right now. We are all trying to figure out how to feel "normal" through the increased & unexpected stressors brought by the pandemic. We often don't consider the importance in asking for help until we feel so heavy we don't know where to turn. My role is to help you identify your strengths and help provide tools to manage the difficult emotions. Anxiety, depression, and fear are all exacerbated during a time of crisis. Some of us are isolated without much social support and are experiencing strain in our relationships with family, friends, or colleagues.

Reaching out can be difficult, but you can rest assured your privacy is protected and secure in therapy. Everyone deserves a safe place to unpack life's challenges and hardships with support. Having the right therapist is critical to the process. My style is lovingly honest in order to best serve you. It is my philosophy that therapy can be like going to the gym...if you don't feel it- you probably aren't changing much. It is my job to both support and challenge in areas that will facilitate growth. Often times much of my work is centered around supporting clients on becoming more mindful and breaking old patterns.
