I love to support teens, college students, & adults, as well as LGBTQIA+, POC, single parents, and other marginalized populations. I offer group for younger kids. Together, we’ll reduce stress, anxiety, and low mood by learning coping skills to increase overall wellness and personal awareness.

In 2011, I decided to start studying to become a therapist after working as a classroom educator for 16 years, because I saw the failing of the educational system and the struggles of the family system. I started working as a therapist in 2016, and today, we all face a variety of emotional issues that are difficult for to express, name, and discuss. Many people feel as if no one is listening or will listen to them, especially adults on the Autism Spectrum who already struggle with communication. I want to help empower all people on the Autism Spectrum and their support systems.

I utilize a collaborative and present-focused approach to help clients learn how to effect immediate change in their lives. I treat an array of mental health concerns via cognitive-behavioral and related approaches. My special interests include psychological assessment and treating severe mental illness, personality disorders, and PTSD/trauma.

I offer both Telehealth and in-person psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. It is my goal to work collaboratively with each client and tailor their treatment plan to meet their specific needs and goals for therapy. Dr. Lisa Long is a psychologist based in Charlotte, North Carolina. She specializes in forensic and clinical psychological evaluations and is a qualified expert witness and court-appointed evaluator in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Kentucky. Dr. Long provides contract psychological evaluations to the Department of Social Services and the Department of Juvenile Justice and consults with attorneys on criminal and civil matters. In addition, she performs psychological evaluations for family law and immigration cases. Dr. Long is fluent in Spanish, proficient in Arabic and Russian, and holds active licenses in multiple states.

Our ideal client has suffered a traumatic brain injury and has ongoing cognitive and adjustment issues related to their injury. This person is typically in the chronic stage of recovery but is still experiencing postconcussive symptoms including memory loss and attentional problems, depression and anxiety related to their injury. They are in need of cognitive rehabilitation and psychotherapy to help with adjustment to their injury. They often want to have their symptoms and concerns validated, which is where the neuropsychological evaluation is extremely helpful.

I have a special interest in working with the LGBTQ+ community, women's issues, and trauma survivors. Specifically, I enjoy working with identity and sexuality concerns, self-esteem concerns and empowerment, anxiety, adjustment, and trauma-related concerns. Meeting clients where they are at and working at their pace is of the upmost importance to me.
