Why the name Pink House Counseling? I have worked with children and families for over a decade. I was working with a neuro divergent kiddo who saw lots of different therapists, speech therapist, occupational therapists, etc. I had a pink dollhouse in my office, and I was dubbed the "pink house counselor." What creativity! I love working with kids and am passionate about creating a safe, warm, and empathetic environment where we can work on struggles in school, parent child relationships, behaviors, early child childhood trauma, grief and loss, or anxiety and depression; and parents we won't leave you out!

Kelly Thoene is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Addiction Specialist with more than 20 of experience specializing in trauma (PTSD), depression, anxiety, panic disorders, mood dysregulation (Bipolar), behavior management difficulties (ODD, Conduct Disorder and DBD), substance abuse, gender dysphoria and LGBQT+ issues. Kelly has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Denver in Colorado. She received a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology from Muskingum College in Ohio. In addition, Kelly had special certifications in Special Education and Early Childhood Education.

Amy Bishop graduated with her MSW from the University of Denver in 2004. She works with children ages 3-18 and adults. She has extensive training in alternative forms of therapy, grief and loss, and trauma. She is trained in multiple therapeutic interventions including art, play, sandtray, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, problem solving therapy, group therapy, solution focused therapy, among others. She fundamentally believes we all have everything we need within ourselves to create change in our own lives and she is there to walk beside us in that journey.

My work with adults who suffer from PTSD, trauma, depression, and anxiety is the meat and potatoes of my day. When someone tells me that they want to heal and need support to change then I am ready to help. I can teach you tools and skills, hold you accountable, offer corrective experiences, and much more.

I have 20 years of clinical experience working with couples, families, teens, school age children and adults. I believe my work has greatly contributed to enhancing the lives of my clients. I utilize a strength-based approach, which helps families to see beyond the problem and see opportunities for change. I provide consultation and parent education designed to empower, educate and support parents in developing effective parenting strategies.

Kathryn Hughey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado who has been practicing since 2015. Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults via telehealth. She believes in being client lead. She will aim to be your partner in the counseling experience and empower you to be the expert in your own life. In your work together, you'll address many different challenges including, but not limited to: setting boundaries in relationships or work; limiting negative self-talk; meeting self-improvement and personal growth goals; adjusting to life transitions like loss or caregiving; processing current and past traumas; and recovering from domestic abuse.

My role as a therapist is to help you reach your pinnacle. I always work from a strengths-based and client-centered focus. The client is the expert of their own life, but I serve as an agent for change to assist in developing, applying and supporting the therapeutic growth. Alyssa Zepeda is a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked diligently to assist children, adults, and families in her community since 2012. She is passionate about empowering and supporting others through the use of evidence-based integrative, and creative approaches. It is extremely important for Alyssa to support clients in not only feeling safe and empowered but to also experience the therapeutic power of nurturing one’s body, mind, and soul. Alyssa also provides supervision to pre-licensed LCSWs and LPCs. She is currently contracted by SALT Wellness Group, LLC, located in Colorado.

Lighthouse provides psychotherapy and neurofeedback services to adults and children with a variety of psychological, psychiatric, and neurological needs. Our therapists have a diverse set of qualifications and skills. Clients are often referred to us after having received therapy from other providers that do not offer some of our services and not having gotten the relief they were seeking.

For the last twenty three years I have provided services to individuals and couples with a broad range of mental health concerns.
