I am Pascale Jean Simon. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years. Within my careers I have the privileged of working with pre-teens, adolescents, adults and families who are struggling with a range of challenges. We specialize but are not limited to: trauma, PTSD, depression, stress, anxiety, anger, interpersonal relationship issues, marital discord.

It is my goal to provide a safe, comfortable, therapeutic environment for all of my clients. As a psychotherapist, I believe the most influential vehicle in supporting and helping my clients exists within my clients and is accessed through our therapeutic relationship. I hold all clients in a positive regard and aim to help clients identify and use their own strengths to solve their personal struggles. Let's face it, we all go through periods of self-doubt and high stress. To struggle is human.

When I first began my practice, I thought that the most important word in marriage was love. A few years later, I changed my mind and concluded that the most important word in marriage was trust. After yet another few years, I changed my mind once again and decided that the most important word in marriage was vulnerability. While I still think today that vulnerability is the most essential component in an intimate partnership, I believe that it needs to be viewed through an attachment lens and can only be exercised in a safe environment. In my practice, I try to create a warm and safe environment where vulnerability thrives.

Extracare Health Services is an outpatient drug and alcohol counseling center offering individualized outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for adolescents, adults and their families. Via a Cognitive/Behavioral approach to treatment, there is a strong emphasis on building self-esteem in our clients and empowering them to take effective control of their lives.
