I can think of no greater responsibility than keeping someone’s secrets or any greater joy than holding someone’s hand while they do the difficult work of changing their lives. I became a therapist because I believe in our ability to CHANGE. The ability to change is one of our greatest gifts and abilities, but in life sometimes we get STUCK. I believe the therapeutic relationship is central and that many of our struggles come from wounded relationships and difficulty with connection. I work to build a relationship of deep empathy and connection with my clients in addition to providing tools for working with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, body image, self esteem, relationship struggles, career transitions, grief, and interpersonal struggles.

My goal is to do therapy differently when possible, whether that means going outdoors and taking a walk or meeting from the comfort of your own home via secured telehealth. I can help you! I have approximately 35 years of experience. I give practical help in a safe and accepting environment. I have specialized in working with children and adolescents; sexual abuse issues, family and marriage issues. I am certified in EMDR. I have clinically supervised/trained graduated students and pre-licensed therapists for approximately 20 years. I work with most issues, including, but not limited to substance abuse, educational problems, depression, anxiety. Life is hardest when we’re alone in our struggles and pain. We’re wired to bond with others and find safe connections with the ones we love. But sometimes it's hard to feel safe. And when we don't feel safe all sorts of negative emotions find their way to the surface. Anxiety, depression, sometimes even behavioral ruts like anger and shame. We just get stuck. And many times it seems like the harder we try to get out of these ruts, the more stuck we seem to get. But we all want the same things in our relationships. To be seen. To be heard. Intimacy/Sexual issues can be difficult to discuss and people are reluctant. In fact, many people struggle with feelings of inadequacy/lack of fulfillment in relation to their sexual experience. Sexual dysfunctions affect both men and women. My desire is to help people struggling with sexual problems and to help people live a more fulfilled intimacy/sexual life. I provide a non-judgmental place for people to safely articulate their concerns. I will help you figure out what is causing these struggles and help resolve them. In addition to sexual issues, I also work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD and other issues.

I can help you get to the 'heart' of the challenges and issues you're dealing with and make the lasting changes you’re longing for. Having been in practice over 40 years, I'm a seasoned therapist and have the tools and experience to resolve whatever is 'up' for you. I've found that 'talk therapy' is often not enough to resolve many difficulties, so I use a variety of effective approaches, uniquely adjusted to match each client's needs. In addition to talk therapy, I utilize Brainspotting; EMDR; Body Centered therapy; Meditative approaches and Hypnotherapy.
