I have been in practice in the Chicago suburbs for years experience serving individuals from adolescence through adulthood in individual psychotherapy couples therapy. Although my practice is a general psychological practice, I maintain specialties in the areas of anxiety disorders including phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder, addictions including process addictions and sexual addiction, and attention-deficit disorder in adolescents and adults. I have had a variety of experiences working with people who have had different types of problems. I have worked with individuals having problems ranging from anxiety, depression, anger management, chronic habitual problems, compulsivity, bipolar, sexual addiction, sexual offending/deviant behaviors, and psychotic issues. So many times, I hear of clients that's been in therapy for years. I believe that in 8 -12 sessions there should be at the minimum a reduction in symptoms or complete elimination, or a referral out should be recommended.
