My work experience has allowed me the opportunity to work with clients who have experienced familial and interpersonal problems related to parenting issues, mental health, addiction, domestic violence, and trauma. The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same things over and over again while expecting a different outcome, and sadly, many people who have good intentions and are working hard to address their life challenges are stuck in the same destructive thoughts and behaviors. We often feel overwhelmed by what life throws at us, such as parenting stress, relationship or family conflicts, grief, job related issues or trauma, and get stuck in negative responses. Together we can find a plan and path that promotes growth, changing thoughts and behaviors and allowing for positive outcomes.

My passion is to support individuals as they seek help to unravel their current mental health symptoms and environmental circumstances. I have worked in the mental health and addictions field, addressing the symptoms of addiction as well as working to manage the mental health symptoms. I work to help the individual find a starting point and continually make steps forward to achieve their goals. Life is difficult, messy, and hard. We all need a support system to help us find who we are meant to be.

I have considerable experience working with children and families who are involved with the Child In Need of Care system and the Juvenile Justice Administration system within Kansas. I have worked with families experiencing difficulties with Parenting issues, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiance and Anger issues. I work closely with individuals, couples and families who are experiencing issues related to stress management, relationship enhancement, communication, conflict resolution, relaxation, time management and assist with techniques for self-care. I work extensively with individuals having difficulties with depression, anxiety, bipolar, grief and loss, divorce, adjustment disorders and unresolved childhood trauma.
