I use a trauma-informed, attachment-focused lens and integrate a blend of psychodynamic, relational, & somatic therapies in my practice.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to the healing process. In our work together, we will co-create a safe, non-judgmental, restorative space. Through genuine warmth, compassion, & humor, my hope is that you’ll feel ready to explore and embark on your unique journey. As someone with a strong spiritual foundation, I empower individuals to tap into their inner healing intelligence as they navigate their past and present life experience. My passion lies in supporting attachment wound healing through reparative connection and increasing awareness and understanding of how trauma gets stored in the body.

I incorporate trauma-informed psychodynamic, somatic, and mindfulness-based approaches to help survivors of trauma better understand their reactions, develop internal resources, and experience relief.
I believe that when we are given a compassionate space to explore our emotions, behaviors, and experiences, the opportunities for growth are endless. As a therapist, I honor the vulnerability and courage it takes to engage in this process. While working on our suffering can feel overwhelming, I pay careful attention to go at the appropriate pace that will be most beneficial to your healing process. You are the expert on your life and I prioritize connecting you with the depth of your own strengths, intuition, and wisdom.

My work is rooted in evidenced-based practices such as EMDR, Acceptance & Commitment therapy, DBT, and Internal family systems while integrating somatic-focused tools (breathwork, movement, etc.
It can be really challenging to navigate an ever-changing world, especially if we enter each season struggling to carry the weight of the past. We learn survival strategies that are often hard to unlearn, and it can feel like we will always be stuck in our same old patterns of suffering. I offer non-judgmental support to people who want to find more aliveness in their minds and bodies. Through this partnership, we aim to build your capacity to feel and deal with emotions in kind yet effective ways, and develop compassionate habits that can lead to self trust. In doing so, we can create more room for ease, meaning, and joy.

I am trained in EMDR, somatic approaches, and I utilize a harm reduction approach in addressing substance use and other behaviors that are one may be ambivalent to change.
You have taken a courageous step in seeking therapy. It is not always easy to talk about how you feel, what you've been through or what you want. Some experiences are beyond words. I see my clients as individuals who have the brilliant capacity to heal and connect with their innate self-worth. I create a warm and comfortable space where you will feel seen and heard. My approach has a foundation in psychodynamic & trauma theory, and looks at how one's personal experiences, identities and intergenerational context impact one's here and now; it also fosters the learning of strategies to feel relief and promote healing.

In addition to talk therapy, I weave together multiple experiential and somatic frameworks - like tapping, reiki and hypnotherapy - to help you get to know you better.
Connection. It’s what we are all looking for. Connection with ourselves. Connection with others. But how do we achieve that in a world that constantly forces us to disconnect in order to survive? To numb out, to run from conflict, to judge, to avoid our vulnerability. Our vulnerability is what makes us beautiful. Let’s get back to that beauty. Whether you’re struggling with romantic relationships, work and family stress, or trying to cope with the multiple crises happening around the world, I’m here to support you. I’ve been a therapist for more than a decade and have helped hundreds of people just like you.

The diverse nature of the human experience often leads to feelings of confusion, loneliness, anxiety, depression, and disenfranchised grief. Yet, by acknowledging these experiences, we gift ourselves with possibilities and opportunities for change. I work with teens and young adults, with a focus on the emotional components of living with chronic illness, grief, loss, and life transitions. I mainly provide psychodynamic and trauma-informed care, with specialized training in EMDR, DBT, and somatic interventions.

Come talk to me, and we can work together on revealing underlying causes of dysfunction and building up your resources to overcome adversity. I believe in a collaborative approach where the client controls the pace of treatment and my role is to promote curiosity and guide the client to connect with inner strengths.

Anxiety is highly treatable and the best treatment focuses on four main areas: somatic practices & nervous system regulation; empathy & communication skills; working with the mind; emotional education.
The best psychotherapy is a working partnership that honors our innate healing abilities. Within the context of a caring and respectful relationship, therapy can create opportunities to resolve past pain, balance emotions, and experience the spontaneous joy and energetic flow we were born with. I love working with clients who prefer a collaborative therapeutic relationship, who are willing to do the work of healing (between-session “field work” is assigned regularly), who are comfortable with, or curious about, a nonlinear approach (rather than strictly cognitive or “talk therapy”).

I help adults in NY, NJ, MA, and FL navigate transitions and challenges related to identity, self-worth, relationships, and career using specialized training in somatic experiencing and EMDR, which support stress recovery and trauma healing.
From the outside, you seem to have it all. You have a great job, you have close friends, and maybe you’re in a relationship. But when you’re alone, anxious thoughts, self-doubt, and dissatisfaction creep in. You might compare yourself to others, ruminate about your imperfections or past mistakes, and dread the day that people see the real you. Or perhaps you’ve lost sight of who you are, where you’re headed, and why you’re working so hard. You might find it difficult to slow down and enjoy your success. You want to feel better but find yourself stuck in old patterns and wondering how to make lasting change.

Even when we have received the ideal nurturing, secure, validating childhood, which can help us to negotiate complexities and challenges we may face later in life, our inner resources can become depleted. The capacity to find joy and comfort may elude us. Rebalancing areas of outer life, and planning steps toward change may be in order. I make time to learn about the myriad ways that using art, energetic, somatic and stress reducing therapies can help each person who comes in, to restore their inner lives as well.

While I am an advanced EMDR therapist with a focus on trauma and attachment repair, I often integrate elements of yoga, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, CBT, and mindfulness into sessions.
Have you struggled to make progress with talk therapy? Would you like to feel more in control of your emotions and behavior? I offer an integrative approach to adults that battle with emotional overwhelm, impulsive behavior, and mood instability. With the right support, these chaotic feelings can be untangled and we can land together in a place of clarity and ease. Whether these behaviors are showing up in personal relationships, at work, or are directed inward, I can help you work toward relief. My style is both gentle and direct and works to tailor a flow of therapy that suits your personal needs and goals.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
