I have both education and life experiences that compliment each other to understand needs of clients. I am willing to meet you where you are at, both within dynamics of the client needs and also as far as location of appointments. I believe that my training in the field of social work has prepared me to provide you with tools that will complement your current treatment or to use as an alternative and allow you to move forward to find balance in your life.

I believe Forrest Gump said it best when he stated "Life is like a box of chocolates"-as life can be sweet and enjoyable; but it can also be bitter and painful. It can definitely send us on emotional roller coaster rides that are not fun. My approach to working with mental health is to meet people where they are and provide individualized care. It's about building and fostering relationships for growth. Similar to the analogy of chocolates, I believe every individual is unique and present with their own life experiences. Thus, there is no one size fits all, & mental health does not fit in a box.

Therapy is a personal, intimate journey towards self-understanding and self-acceptance. I provide a holistic approach to therapy in a safe and supportive environment in which you will be heard and respected. Erin Meyer MS, NCC, LPC-MH, LAC and QMHP provides mental health and chemical dependency counseling services to individuals, couples and families. Erin focuses on providing high-quality counseling services in Sioux Falls, SD and the surrounding area in counseling children, adolescents and adults with a variety of issues. She uses a multitude of interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in a positive, solution-focused fashion to help learn to solve their problems. I am also trained in EMDR and am certified in Postpartum mental health.

I began my career in residential treatment working with adolescents and adults suffering with a combination of addiction and mental health disorders. I work from an Adlerian perspective with a systems integration. I also often incorporate DBT skills in sessions. I enjoy working with adults and adolescents and work with clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm behaviors, relationship issues, addiction, codependence, low self-esteem, and those struggling with life transitions.

Alyssa Martin, MS, LAC is a South Dakota State Licensed Addiction Counselor and has a Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South Dakota State University. She has experience in working with adolescents and adults in intensive inpatient treatment and outpatient settings. She uses cognitive behavioral, solution-focused and motivational interviewing therapeutic techniques. She specializes in substance abuse, addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. She is currently employed at Black Hills Counselors and provides Substance Abuse evaluations, outpatient groups, DUI classes, individual, family and couples counseling sessions for adults and adolescents.

I have provided mental health services for over 9+ years to adults, couples, and 16+ who are struggling with mental health issues. I guide people in their healing of trauma including complex trauma, dissociative issues, depression, anxiety, grief, psychotic spectrum, and personality disorders. I will create a safe space of honesty and empathy. I will guide you to strengthen self-trust and empower yourself to solve issues within all your relationships, inside and outside of therapy. I believe that our minds and bodies are connected through thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

We are worth more than our circumstances, difficult situations, missteps, or the uncontrollable events of our lives. As we process these emotions, we need support to recognize that digging out can be difficult and sometimes we tend to dig even deeper. As a therapist, my focus is to help individuals, families, and couples move forward.

My main mission is to help my clients create their own life worth living as whatever that looks like to them in addition to working on building different skill sets to help them get to where they want to be. I utilize a holistic approach to help them reach their goals as I believe many aspects of that often get forgotten and are yet so essential.

I am passionate and committed to serving children ages 4-12 experiencing a variety of mental health needs. My goal is to help children and their parents make connections between difficult behaviors and their underlying causes, and help them implement interventions that fit and work well for the family. I work from a person centered approach, providing strength-based care to help children and families address challenges in a way that meets each person’s unique needs. I also believe that play is the language of children, and use both directive and non-directive play therapy techniques to address struggles and difficult topics.

Kathryn has worked with youth since 2014 in a variety of programs including residential settings, education, early childhood, and counseling centers. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Concordia College Moorhead and a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Affairs from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She obtained her Associate of Social Work license in 2018 and is currently working towards her Licensed Professional Counselor hours in South Dakota.

I am an LMFT with over 30 years experience working with couples and individuals ages 12 and up addressing a wide range of issues. These include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, work challenges, grief and loss, addiction, aging, transitions, managing stress and relationship issues. I love what I do and feel privileged to do this important work. I create a safe place for people to address their concerns, fears and life changes that affect us all.
