I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has over 20 years of experience as a mental health provider. I currently serve as the Executive Director of a non-profit community outpatient mental health clinic. I also do a lot of behavioral health consulting and teaching as an adjunct instructor at the colleges in the area. In addition, I provide clinical mental health supervision to private agencies, counseling interns and those seeking professional licensure within the state.

For over 35 years, I have been helping individuals find purpose and direction and overcome grief, anxiety and depression; couples prepare for marriage and couples grow from unhappiness to renewed marital satisfaction; and children face the challenges of too much stress as well as teenagers and young adults learn to cope and manage the challenges of adolescence and young adulthood. People often close me because of my extensive Biblical training and Christian values: every person is important; marriage is worth hard work; and children deserve to be well loved and respected.

As a trauma-informed, EMDR-trained relationship specialist, I am passionate about working with high-achieving adults and couples. I help my clients become more aware of their vulnerable and protective parts and teach skills to improve your ability to communicate, connect, and co-parent more effectively. Deeply relational and energetic, yet results-inspired, I use evidence-based approaches, such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and IFS. I also incorporate mindfulness, creativity, and humor into my practice. Best of all, I'm human too, and may laugh or shed a tear right along with you.

As an LPC with 20+ yrs of experience, I feel honored to be able to work with many different clients during what is often a vulnerable time. I bring empathy and compassion to therapy sessions, which may focus on trauma, anxiety, depression, postpartum/perinatal mood disorders, eating disorders, infertility, parenting and addictions. I also work with grief and loss, including pregnancy and child loss. I specialize in navigating relationship crises, infidelity and narcissistic abuse. Many clients are LGBTQ+, and come in for gender affirming care. I am the founder of Falls Church Wellness Center, a mental & physical health facility.

We may be asking ourselves BIG questions, “what’s next”, “what should I do”, and “what do I want from life”.

I provide Pastoral Christian Counseling and Life Coaching in the Hampton Roads area. As a Pastoral Counselor and Coach my professional philosophy is that I am committed to the same professional standards and code of ethics that are essential in clinical counseling. The goal of pastoral counseling is to help individuals think biblically about their current struggles in the context of a confidential, and in a caring environment. Life coaching is a developmental process whereby I will meet with individuals on a regular basis to clarify goals, deal with potential stumbling blocks and improve their performance.
