I am not conventional, stuffy, or judgmental. Not churchy. I work quietly and deeply. I work well with sensitive people troubled by their minds, feelings, and personal or societal unrest. I can help you set healthier boundaries with family, work, friends, and lovers. Although I will likely retire in 2025, I will see current and previous clients and a short-term new client or two. Only telehealth appointments are open for the foreseeable future.

I believe in helping clients to find one’s own internal healer, to rediscover their inner strengths, and empowering them to improve their mental balance while helping them clarifying their existential journey. My therapeutic focus is client centered with an emphasis on educating clients to improve their lives through empowerment to become independent and continue their inner growth.

Many of the people that I meet in my practice are feeling "stuck" in some area of life - they can't seem to get traction in making change happen. Addictions, co-dependence, anxiety, depression, anger, poor self-image, lack of assertiveness, lack of closeness in relationships, and struggles with getting past major life traumas are many of the issues we focus on in sessions.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in Person-Centered therapy in which the relationship between client and clinician is a priority and is based in mutual trust and respect, empathy and congruence. I use integrative techniques in every session to meet the unique needs of each client, such as CBT, trauma-informed therapy and mindfulness-based therapy. I believe that individuals are experts on themselves and because of this I take a collaborative approach in working with clients, utilizing what is known as Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) to get client input in evaluating progress and clients’ needs.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that works with adolescents and adults with a variety of issues. I understand that life does not always go exactly as we have hoped and that sometimes we need a little extra support to get it on track. I would love to be the person to support you in achieving your goals for yourself or your family. In my current practice I address difficulties with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, behavior problems, family issues, adjustment difficulties, communication problems, codependency, and parenting.

We often come to a crossroads in our lives, a time when staying where we are is no longer sustainable, yet we are not clear on how to do something different, or how to start down a new path. Many of us learned early on to only show aspects of ourselves that were “acceptable;” we learned which traits earned us love and cultivated those, but relinquished many others. Healing is a journey back to ourselves, a journey back our essence and back to who we were before we learned we were not enough.

I specialize in helping adult individuals overcome addiction, anxiety, trauma, depression, stress, and phase of life issues. I understand that life can present many challenges, and it's not always easy to navigate them on your own. That's why I'm here to offer support and guidance. I utilize a combination of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), to help my clients achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

I find that the empathy and safety experienced in therapy can be transformative in the way that we view our past experiences and our past selves. I most enjoy working with emerging adults and those between the ages of 25-50. Most of my experience involves working with survivors of complex trauma. My professional interests also include working with those experiencing family of origin difficulties, anxiety, depression, existential dilemmas, religious trauma/Christian deconstruction, and post-traumatic stress symptoms. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and am affirming of non-monogamous relationships.

Most sessions will be conducted via Telehealth. My goal is to help you gain the insight, clarity and understanding you seek to resolve relationship issues and/or decrease anxiety, depression and personality difficulties whether yours or those around you. I have many years of varied life experience including: having lived in Chad, Africa and Italy, raised a multi-cultural, blended family, went through divorce, step-children, life transitions and family of origin dysfunction. I am a LCSW (Licensed clinical social worker) since 2006 and have been employed with Samaritan Counseling since 2014.

Becky approaches clients as uniquely beautiful and gifted and works to assist clients in overcoming barriers that prevent them from embracing their innate strengths. Becky affirms all gender identities, religions, disabilities, ethnicities, and cultures and encourages clients to find healing within each aspect of their person. Life can be exhilarating and shattering, pleasant and painful, beautiful and horrific. All emotions tell us something about ourselves and our circumstances. All emotions are good and should be handled with care, because they are the forces that lead us to ourselves.

As a therapist for nearly 30 years, I have worked with many people on a variety of different issues including, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, PTSD, an early or recent history of trauma, relationship issues, and others. My approach focuses on establishing a safe and peaceful place for clients to process through past or present issues. And then, work with clients to develop and implement individualized treatment, which usually includes healthy coping methods for stress, anxiety and mood management, using relaxation, meditation, stress-management, and if therapeutically necessary, EMDR.
