In couple relationships there are sometimes ongoing disagreements that don't get better or a betrayal that fractures the relationship.
The main focus of my work is helping couples recapture the relationship that is slipping away or has been broken by betrayal, disagreement, anger or lack of caring. I am also a divorce coach and parent coordinator. I work with individuals, couples and adult families, in a variety of modalities, to make life the best it can be.

I specialize in relationship issues, trauma/PTSD, depression, anxiety, college counseling/life transitions, stress management, career issues and drugs and alcohol abuse.
I approach psychotherapy from a place of empathy and non-judgment. I tailor my treatment approach to each unique individual I work with, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, relational, dialectical-behavioral and motivational interviewing; assisting clients with both the here-and-now symptoms (e.g. anxiety, depression) and the underlying issues associated with those symptoms (e.g. relationship problems, identity issues, past experiences of trauma).

I work with adults, adolescents, families, and couples who seek help for relationship issues, parenting challenges, depression, anxiety, trauma, and / or various other challenges in life.
At times, we might consider therapy when we want something in life but can't seem to get it; we feel stuck. Often, we tend to feel stuck when our coping strategies are no longer working. In therapy, we can gain insights into our coping strategies, such as how they developed, the important purpose they've served since childhood, and why we continue to use them even when they are no longer working. These insights can help us to eventually develop new coping strategies. I use an empathetic, encouraging, egalitarian, and holistic approach, along with humor, to connect with, understand, and support clients.

I deeply care about helping you navigate challenging relationship issues, whether a co-worker, or your partner of 15 years.
Accepting New Clients (Individuals and Couples)-Life can feel really overwhelming at times, especially when you are trying to manage the daily grind, while also being present in your personal and professional relationships. When you have a busy and demanding life your personal relationships often take a back burner and it’s hard to deal with problems effectively in the moment. Sometimes it’s easier to numb out or avoid with unhealthy habits. But, eventually these habits leave you feeling more stressed and disconnected, and problems that once appeared small snowball into larger issues.

I have experience working with people overcoming depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and life transitions such as becoming a parent and entering into marriage.
Entering therapy is courageous. It can be a transformational space, a bridge from suffering to the discovery of choices that enable people to actively engage life. Depression, anxiety, fear and difficult feelings are not indicative of sickness, but rather signals that call for self-care, curiosity and empathy. I believe people's strengths are integral in the therapeutic process; I seek to help people access their humor, resilience, courage, intelligence, sensitivity and honesty throughout the healing process.

The need to normalize therapeutic support, including all forms of mental illness, is ever-present today. Society does not always advocate for the individual nor does it provide freedom for the individual to advocate for themselves. Therapy can take many different forms, but it should always feel like a space to cultivate that relationship with self, discover a new kind of balance, and gain support through your experience.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
