I offer neurodiversity-affirming psychotherapy and coaching, through which I empower adults and college/professional students with ADHD, learning differences, depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, or anyone going through a life transition, to rediscover their passions and increase their overall feelings of satisfaction.
Living in NYC can be both exciting and overwhelming even on your best days. Between your daily responsibilities, taking care of others’ needs, and the pressure to always have it together, you wonder how you can find the time or space to attend to your own needs. I want to help you harness your hidden superpowers to better manage the changes and stressors in your life (even the positive ones), improve your quality of life and relationships, find purpose and fulfillment, use your time more meaningfully, set healthy boundaries without guilt, and decrease feelings of burnout, shame, sadness, isolation, chaos, numbness, or pain.

We can provide testing to determine the presence of a learning disability, cognitive difficulty, attention deficit (ADHD), and/or executive functioning issues.
Whether it is your first time looking for support or if this is a part of a longer process, I would like to meet you where that is. I work with individuals from childhood through adulthood who are seeking support for various reasons such as life transitions, anxiety, depression, personal identity, stress, and relationships. With your goals in mind, I draw from a variety of evidence based therapies such as psychodynamic and play, as well as cognitive and dialectical behavioral. I have expertise in grief and loss, caregiving, physical health related problems, and cultural identity.

I am interested in learning about my clients, not just the problems they present to me.
I help my clients learn and enhance their abilities to utilize their own strengths in order to overcome issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, substance abuse, and daily or work related stress. I put in a strong effort to connect with my clients and create a working alliance. The treatment I provide is a collaborative process where we will work together for positive changes. I've spent the last five years training and working with clients at institutions such as New York Presbyterian Hospital, the William Alanson White Institute, New York University, and Cornell Medical College.

When working with me, we'll collaboratively work on learning new skills together to challenge and/or change old patterns of thinking and doing.
Life is not an easy road. New worries come with every stage and it can feel helpless to face those challenges on your own. I am dedicated to helping clients with anxiety, ADHD, depression, managing new changes and stress, and improving self-esteem. If you want to make a change, are motivated, and are ready to work, I'd love to be able to help. I hope to offer my clients a safe space to explore themselves in-depth without fear of judgment and work together to bring about lasting change.

How many of us want to change those dysfunctional parts of ourselves and the often accompanying sadness, anger, and anxiety but find we run into a wall over and over? Whether in intimate relationships, in friendships, in collegial relationships, or those with our family members, the familiar patterns continue to create distress and often a sense of failure. We can then find ourselves repeating destructive scenarios. I have had success in challenging these unhealthy patterns leading clients to be more present and emotionally honest in all of their relationships.

Education and Learning Disabilities Therapists

How effective is treatment for learning disabilities?

When initiated early and tailored to a child’s specific needs, learning disability treatment can be quite effective at helping a child cope with their disability, though its exact efficacy may depend on the severity of symptoms and whether comorbid disorders exist. Less is known about treatment initiated in adulthood, but it is certainly possible that an adult with a learning disability will see some improvement—or at the very least, identify workarounds and accommodations that could make symptoms less burdensome in day-to-day life.

When should someone seek treatment for learning disabilities?

It’s best to seek treatment as early as possible. Because learning disabilities often go unnoticed until a child starts school, or even until they’re a few years along, regular check-ins with teachers and doctors can help parents determine whether children are meeting milestones and keeping up with peers or whether an evaluation for learning disabilities may be warranted. And although earlier is always better, it’s never too late to be evaluated for learning disabilities and to seek treatment.

What happens if learning disabilities are left untreated?

Undiagnosed and untreated learning disabilities can be a source of significant frustration and shame for a child, who may feel that their challenges stem from a lack of intelligence or willpower. Such feelings can trigger low self-esteem, depression, or anxiety, which may push a child toward risky behaviors, including substance use. In adulthood, untreated learning disabilities can interfere with career success, and lingering feelings of self-doubt and shame can negatively affect someone’s mental health.

Are there medications for learning disabilities?

Currently, there are no medications designed to treat specific learning disabilities such as dysgraphia or dyscalculia. However, someone with a learning disability may be prescribed medication for a comorbid condition, such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD, which may have positive downstream effects on their learning disability; for example, a child with both ADHD and dyslexia may find that they’re better able to focus on their reading exercises after being prescribed a stimulant medication.
