Establishing a trusting relationship and environment that is warm and supportive where clients feel safe and motivated to engage in their therapeutic journey is my essential goal. My approach to therapy is formulated by the uniqueness of the person along with the uniqueness of the environmental and familial systems within which they have developed. Over the past 23 years I have worked with individuals, groups, families, and couples and have treated several mental and emotional health issues. Some of these issues include: Depression, Anxiety, Grief, ADHD, Self-Esteem, Life Transitions, Relationship/Family, and Attachment.

I have worked as a Clinical Social Worker in a variety of settings for thirty years since receiving a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. I have been employed as a therapist in private practice for the past fifteen years. I treat a diverse client population of adults, adolescents, couples and families. I see individuals aged sixteen and up with phase of life issues, such as adjustment to young adulthood. I treat depression and other mood disorders, anxiety and panic disorders and relational problems.

Life is a journey and can be very difficult to travel, especially when traveling alone and battling things like grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and other forms of mental distress. As a marriage and family therapist, I am passionate about joining my clients in their journey to wellness. I believe in blending clinical theories with Biblical truths, as well as cultivating a safe, judgement-free environment for my clients.

With over 20 years of mental health experience and 14 years practicing therapy, I have learned to specialize in relationship/couples therapy and work as well as individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and other life and circumstantial issues. My experience has also led me to work with trauma in a systemic and experiential way and utilize EMDR, mindfulness and trauma informed interventions.

Throughout my 30 years of experience, I have developed therapeutic approaches to empower clients and help them manage and overcome feelings of depression and anxiety, conflicted relationships, unhealthy behaviors and other stressors. As a family therapist, I work closely with families when treating children and adolescents, and offer guidance on parenting issues.

As an experienced therapist I will work with you to generate the movement you are seeking in your life using novel approaches to help you on your journey. I specialize in helping couples find new ways to understand and communicate with one another and bring better balance to their relationships. In addition to working in the office or online we can take your sessions outdoors into nature. I am based in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia and see people virtually, outdoors or in the office. During the winter months, Jan, Feb and March, I can meet with you in person in Basalt, Colorado or online.
