The Meltzer Center provides a variety of low fee assessment and therapy mental health services to individuals within the Washington, DC metro area. We are located at George Washington University, near the Foggy Bottom metro. We offer evidence-based individual, family, group (see below for current group description), and couples therapy (CBT, etc.) to address a wide variety of psychological problems, relationship issues, and personal concerns.

Psychological evaluations are my area of expertise and passion. My goal when conducting assessments is to identify an individual’s areas of strength and weakness in order to provide recommendations for treatment, work and/or school, interpersonal relationships, and daily living. In the context of assessments, I can provide diagnoses and second opinions. A diagnosis is only one aspect of the process, however, and I emphasize understanding underlying cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal processes, and how these combine and manifest in daily life.

I have over 20 years of experience in the field of clinical psychology, providing both psychological evaluation and therapy services. My areas of focus include identifying clinical and educational related concerns through evaluation as well as using cognitive behavioral methods to treat a wide range of concerns. My therapy clients often request services for depression, anxiety, school and work related issues, and coping with day to day stress.

I am a psychologist who provides virtual therapy for teens and adults. I strive to build a warm and collaborative relationship through which positive change can occur. In therapy, I help clients learn effective strategies to manage difficult feelings, as well as develop greater insight into how they have been shaped by past experiences. My approach is integrative, and I incorporate psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and other techniques to meet each client's needs. I also have expertise in psychological evaluation, and I do testing for learning disorders, ADHD, autism, and emotional concerns.

Hello! I'm a resident in counseling (LPC) and sex offender treatment trainee (CSOTP) at Counseling and Forensic Services. I've worked with clients regarding trauma, adjustment issues, school, anxiety, stress, depression, and more. Finding someone you can trust to take this next step with is so important, and I'm happy to help you along this journey! With 12 years of experience working with clients going through individual, relationship, and family issues, Celebrity Therapist Dr. Jeff Rocker has provided therapeutic services to clients nationwide. He is Licensed in 14 states and has served clients from all age groups. Over the years, Dr. Jeff has organized lectures and various events in the community, including excursions and retreats for couples to improve their communication and better understand each other. He has experience working with athletes in the NFL, NBA, and MLB. In addition, Dr. Jeff has also worked with clients in the Movie, Music, and Entertainment Industries.

I am a licensed Psychologist in Washington DC and in Maryland. I specialize in the treatment of trauma, specifically child sexual abuse. I have extensive experience in the utilization of evidenced based treatment in the area of trauma with children as young as 3 years old. I also provide psychological and psycho-educational evaluations. I have worked with children impacted by the foster care system, multiple traumas, grief and loss, gay, lesbian, and transgendered youth . I strongly believe in creating a warm and accepting amotsphere and that this is a neccessary condition for successful treatment.

I have an extensive and unique clinical experience with more than 15 years in inpatient and outpatients settings. I have helped many individuals with assorted emotional problems, including PTSD, mood and adjustment disorders, grief, anger, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder. I also serve as a mental health consultant for childhood and early childhood programs in Fairfax where I provide play therapy for young children with emotional and behavioral problems and parents' consultations.

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist trained at Harvard Medical School. Occasionally, we notice patterns of thinking, behaving, and experiencing others & ourselves, which can feel very familiar and frustrating. Or we can be hit by sudden life circumstances like loss, transition, identity shifts, or trauma that leave us feeling overwhelmed & scared, where existing strengths and coping skills are outstripped. Through a dynamic and collaborative process, I help patients understand & transform their old ways of being to feel more connected, renewed, and, ultimately, to better flourish in their relationships, work, and within themselves.
