I have years of experience treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, substance use disorders, low self-esteem, disordered eating and other issues.
Everyone struggles with difficulties in their life. Working with a therapist provides a safe environment to face these issues directly and learn healthier coping skills. I believe that the client-therapist relationship is of the utmost importance in the therapeutic process and is an important predictor of the success of therapy. I enjoy helping clients to achieve their fullest potential through the development of realistic and measurable goals for therapy. I have 16 years of experience working with adults and adolescents and have targeted working with those individuals 18 years and older.

You may hear about body spa, but have you heard about "mind spa"? I will change your perspective in therapy and you will find the therapy is not just talk about your problem. I am experienced in assisting clients to reach their self-realization and help them find peace of their minds again. Yes! That's why we called it's a "mind spa"! I am a person-centered therapist who use holistic approach as my goal is to empower and motivate clients. I draw a variety of modalities (CBT, mindfulness, and Ericksonian hypnosis) to meet clients' needs.

My greatest passion in life is helping children, adolescents, and young adults navigate their own therapeutic journey. As a neurodiversity affirming therapist, I focus less on problematic behaviors and more on identifying unmet needs and lagging skills. I am strong believer that children are not intentionally giving their parents/teachers/caregivers a hard time, but rather they are having a hard time. As Dr. Ross Green states, "kids do well if they can."

Hi I'm Kenzie! One of the bravest things people can do is to reach out for some help, especially in our child, adolescent and young adult years. Growing up can come with all sorts of pressure, confusion, and judgement, leading to anxiety and other strong emotions. Anxiety may cause us to struggle with communication, lash out in anger, act on impulses, get lost in our feelings, avoid tasks, distract us from success, and disconnect us from support systems.

My training has largely been focused in the eating disorder field and I want to help you find freedom from eating disorders, body image issues, anxiety, and depression.
While the thought of therapy can be intimidating, your therapist never should be. I want you to understand that there is no “right answer” and as a therapist, I am not asking for one. Instead, I want to provide a place where you feel safe to openly and honestly express yourself, where you, as the expert of your own thoughts and experiences, are in the driver’s seat. My job is to provide direction and support. Together, we will set goals and work towards them through a relational, empathetic, and direct approach.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
