As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I believe just as much therapeutic work should be done outside of therapy as within counseling sessions. Being fully invested in the therapeutic process is key to positive outcomes. Clients are expected to be fully present during therapy sessions and open to experimenting with a variety of techniques to assist with identifying how thoughts, feelings, and situations contribute to maladaptive behaviors.

Teletherapy Available - It is easy for anxiety, depression, and stress to become overwhelming with all of life's demands. If you are often feeling overwhelmed, anxious, panicky, depressed, or unsettled, now may be the time to seek treatment. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to work with clients on stress management, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, substance abuse/addiction, and trauma/PTSD. My therapy is typically short-term, and I collaborate with clients to find solutions to increase coping skills and minimize anxiety. As a therapist, I like to actively engage with clients.

With a therapeutic relationship filled with nurturing and collaboration, along with a bit of humor and playfulness, we can explore dynamics, improve skills, and overcome barriers. Together, we identify and utilize strengths in the process of facing more challenging emotional and relational struggles. My clients, which include children, adolescents, and adults, frequently address issues such as anxieties, OCD, ADHD, trauma, negative self-worth, school/work-based challenges, perfectionism, emotional regulation, preparation/adjustment to divorce, parenting, bullying, and the overall desire to improve key relationships.

My therapeutic approach is strength based and integrative, utilizing solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, emotionally focused therapy, and experiential methods. I believe the therapeutic relationship is vital. By utilizing a core humanistic approach, based on trust, nonjudgmental, and a genuine unconditional positive regard. I help clients gain insight into the past and evaluate present living to create a new perspective. Awareness of self and others, coping skills, and motivation of present living is explored to create new patterns of thought, new emotional responses, and new behaviors to not only heal and reach your goal but to thrive and live fully.

My therapeutic approach engages and guides each client into meeting their full potential by creating awareness and solutions to their current challenges by looking into their life experiences and life history. My personal theory is to treat each client as an individual; meaning all therapies are not beneficial or advantageous to all. By individualizing my therapy techniques and philosophy, it provides the client with the customizing they deserve. I am nonjudgmental and have an adept ability to establish rapport and trust easily with my clients. My goal is to help my clients achieve a healthier, stronger and happier well being.

Evening Appts Available. Welcome! Starting therapy is a big step that takes courage. These are uncertain times and right now everyone could use support and a safe place. I have over 10 years of experience working with people who are dealing with trauma, anxiety, sadness, life changes & relationship stress. We are all complex & often what feels like it should be a “simple fix” can be frustratingly difficult to change, especially in these stressful times. In therapy, you can get to know yourself more fully and understand what is getting in the way of how you want to be living so that you can live a more congruent and peaceful life.

What does it mean to be a man, and more importantly how does that feel? Together we will unlearn the limiting beliefs that stem from our upbringing and societal narratives, and instead learn how to acknowledge, accept, and deal with the full spectrum of emotions we have. Do you feel you are not properly heard in your relationship by your partner? Do the same troubles keep coming up within your relationship? I assist couples dealing with conflicts within their relationship such as trust, communication, infidelity, and the effects of past traumas surfacing.

Family dynamics can be stressful! Certified as a Prepare-Enrich and Level III Gottman Therapist, Scott works with couples, married or not, to build a healthy foundation & improve overall family relationships for the couple and with kids. With the "Prepare and Enrich" system, he uses a comprehensive assessment to evaluate a couple's strengths and weaknesses while the Gottman philosophy helps improve communication, appreciation, and empathy. Scott earned a BS in Psychology and a Master's in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and has worked in a clinical environment and private practice for over 10 yrs.

I love my job as a therapist & working with my clients! You will find a great listener in me. I will help you, your children, & or teens (English or Spanish speaking) look for solutions, teach you skills & techniques using DBT, SFBT, & other therapies. With children &/or teens, I use toys and games if needed. If you are religious, we will integrate your beliefs into the sessions. Once that is established I will assist and encourage you as you pursue your goals, solidify your strengths, and deepen your self-concept and self-awareness. *Currently accepting new patients* Throughout my work in community mental health, I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of client populations including individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, trauma, and substance abuse. I also conduct independent clinical drug and alcohol evaluations.

I work with families and children who's lives revolve around the issues of one or more family members struggles with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
