I've had over 20 years of experience in the field, working with many issues including a variety of sexual issues, abuse, crisis intervention, anxiety, depression and anger. I work with both youth and adults.

Reaching out for help can feel intimidating. You may find yourself struggling to the point of being overwhelmed. Therapy should provide a safe, nonjudgmental relationship through which to explore those parts of you that may make you feel ashamed or afraid, to develop meaningful insights, and to discover your strengths. I have extensive experience working with people seeking to overcome traumatic life events - sexual violations, abuse, neglect, extreme acts of violence - but have found that, in the end, it can sometimes be the seemingly small, overlooked wounds that take longest to heal. No matter how stuck and hopeless you may feel, you have the power to take control and embrace the person you'd like to be.

You find yourself constantly avoiding triggers, unable to go certain places or do things that remind you of your unresolved hurt - a lost relationship, childhood abandonment, the death of someone you love dearly. You feel limited and held back by your painful past. You get sucked into self help videos on Tik-Tok looking for a solution and find yourself more sad, more alone, and feeling empty after hours of scrolling. Together we can face the past head on. I guide clients to work through past hurt and do the work to heal. My clients finish therapy confident, emotionally healthy, and free to move forward into a hopeful future.

While this idea sounds somewhat simple, putting the past behind us; especially a traumatic one, can be easier said than done. I specialize in working with individuals who are looking to do deep inner work & who have been to traditional therapy before, but have come to an impasse. For those clients who have talked it all out, but continue to suffer, I offer an alternative approach. Many individuals whom I have had the privilege to walk with on their healing journey were facing things like depression, anxiety, life transitions, chronic pain, parenting difficulties & trauma. I am trained in EMDR, TRE & use these with clients as part of a wholistic approach. My intent is to provide a safe and non-threatening space to explore and release difficult histories.

The way we feel, act, or react is not fully determined by external factors- regardless of the circumstances we are in, but also by our outlook on life and perspective toward specific situations. I believe in a collaborative therapeutic relationship that is provided in a safe, non-judgmental environment. I strive to support and assist clients on their journeys to create meaning in their lives, change or replace patterns of thinking and behaviors that are no longer working for them, develop greater self-awareness and deepen their relationships.

My ideal client is someone who is open to exploring themselves using creative expression. I have experience with many art mediums and use art to assist clients with gaining insight in areas that align with their needs and goals. I enjoy working with clients on emotional expression and identification as well as helping clients identify coping strategies that work for them to assist with mood and emotional issues.
