One of my favorite quotes is "sometimes, when you are in a dark place, you think you've been buried, but you've actually been planted". Emotional pain can be so overwhelming that we feel unable to get out of the dark places by ourselves. Trying to navigate trauma, anxiety, hopelessness and stressful relationships, can create fear, doubt and shame to take up too much space in our lives. The way to healing and restoring the body, mind and spirit can feel challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone.

There are times in life when it feels like things are simply falling apart. Trauma and life stressors can leave us feeling alone and shattered, but trying to pick up the pieces can be overwhelming. Do you have experiences that you've tried to talk through but nothing helps or maybe the past is too difficult to speak out loud. Have you lost touch with parts of yourself that are creative, joyful and confident? Whether you just experienced a traumatic event or are recovering from years of stress, there is hope and the possibility for change! Mosaic Creative Counseling helps create something beautiful out of these broken pieces.

I believe in a strength based approach which means every client has a natural strength that can be used to improve upon any situation. My goal is to help clients identify and utilize the skills they already possess. Therapy approaches I often use to achieve this goal are EMDR, CBT, motivational interviewing, etc. I enjoy working with clients who are seeking to process through trauma. We have all experienced it at least once in our lives, and I love working with clients seeking to process and overcome these experiences. I practice a judgement free environment and enjoy learning as much from my clients as they learn from me.

Life can take us to places we don't want to go, and give us an education for which we did not want to pay. I understand this and can help you navigate life's uncertainties. I have assisted clients learn to love themselves, find the resources they need, and heal from the situations life brings to us. I offer a compassionate and non-judgmental safe place to explore, process, and heal. You might not feel like it, but you are stronger than you know. I will be your biggest cheerleader, your advocate, your support in times of stress. I will also challenge the old ways of thinking and doing things.

“Oh, the places you’ll go,” is a profound and very true statement by Dr. Suess. Life is a journey and the path traveled cannot be predicted. In life, we experience transitions, and changes in life may appear as grief, anxiety, depression, divorce, trauma, marital conflict, or so much more. My name is LaTasha Thomas, and I am here to help you navigate those life transitions.

When the pain of remaining where we are is greater than the pain of seeking help, we are more likely to seek support. We all experience difficulties and rough spots at various times. An unbiased, objective perspective can help us manage difficulties, emphasize our strengths, and improve our overall well-being. In a private and supportive environment, we work closely with clients to enhance functioning and well-being using a strengths-based approach. See more at www.sebhfl.com and check out our blog for more information on mental health support.

I could tell you all about my 20+ years of trainings/certifications, therapeutic methods, and the usual psychobabble jargon professionals use. However, if you are like most people, your main question is: "Can you help me in my situation?". To be honest, I don't know if I can help you until we meet and explore what is going on in your life that has lead you to this search. Since 1994, I have assisted thousands of individuals, couples, and families find direction, solutions, and peace in their lives.

When depression or anxiety takes over and loneliness sets in, it is understandable to feel hopeless. Sometimes even relationships can lead to unhappiness. In therapy, we will work to address these issues. Therapy is a journey of learning about your past and present self. This self-exploration helps open the doors to a fulfilling and meaningful life. I work with clients to help them understand their strengths and struggles, which creates a platform to achieve their goals. In order to do that, I believe that the therapist-client relationship is a partnership and it is central to achieving significant progress.

Problems do not occur in a vacuum. Individual problems often have symptoms that affect the entire family system. I work with children, adolescents, couples, and families experiencing whatever problems of the moment. During our work together, we will explore the impact of the issue and join together to generate solutions that not only benefit the people in the room, but may also positively influence future generations.

My goal is to get you from surviving to thriving. With this in mind I find I work best with adolescents to young adults as they transition through a big change into independence but have helped many gain control in their lives from age 10-70.
