I specialize in working with people who have experienced trauma. Trauma can leave a person feeling numb, disconnected as if your life has been turned upside down. I would like to assist you with your healing journey. My focus is a Holistic approach to helping people recover and heal after a traumatic event and learn new ways of coping and managing their traumatic responses. When someone does not heal from a traumatic event, they can develop Post Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD) depression, and/or anxiety.

I approach therapy with positivity, mindfulness, humor and goals. I am a certified substance abuse counselor and an EMDR trained clinician. I also incorporate spirituality to holistically treat my clients mind, body and soul. My clinical skills are rooted in CBT, DBT, Psycho-dynamic and Motivational Interviewing.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and received my Doctorate in Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 2003. I have been working in the mental health field in various capacities, including community mental health, college counseling, group practice, private practice, and substance abuse treatment since1996. Twenty years of experience in this field has not only strengthened my skills, but continues to ignite my passion for working with individuals on the verge of self-exploration and change. I pride myself on being down-to-earth, relatable, and nonjudgmental in order to create a therapeutic environment that allows patients to express themselves.

I am a psychotherapist who is interested in working with clients who are striving to become their authentic/best selves. The counseling process is one that looks the holistic needs of the individual (i.e. society, family, personal narrative/story) to promote personal growth and development. Therefore, I am a multicultural and gestalt therapist who is committed to the process of understanding and addressing societal issues that impact clients' emotional and psychological health. I work collaboratively with clients to connect to their authentic selves, step into their power, and set goals to achieve their desired holistic needs.
