My passion is working with individuals, couples and families to help them feel empowered in their lives and relationships by providing them with better coping skills, stress reduction strategies and communication techniques. My areas of expertise include: depression, anxiety, substance abuse, co-dependency, couples and family counseling, women’s issues, infertility, and stress management.

Heather has been practicing social work for 15 years. She has worked with a diverse group of clients from newborns to 102. Heather approaches each of her clients as individual people who have the power to create change within their own lives. Heather creates a space where clients can navigate the various stages of life without judgement.

My journey to becoming a counselor started from a young age when I realized I felt things on a deep level... or at least cried more than the other guys! For a long time I struggled with my sensitivity, thinking less of myself for lacking the control to ignore or suppress my feelings. However, over time I found that my sensitivity allowed me to empathize with others on a unique level, and that in owning and sharing my feelings, others felt more comfortable to do the same. As a result, it is my aim to provide individuals a safe space to share their struggles and develop tools to feel confident in their ability to cope with life.

We believe that counseling provides an avenue in which individuals and families can grow through self-discovery, self-awareness, gaining confidence, development of skills and creating meaningful and authentic relationships. Asking for help takes courage and by just calling you are one step closer to self-improvement. We have many years of experience counseling children, adolescents, adults and families. We specialize in neurodivergent individuals and their families. We use a variety of treatment methods that are flexible to your needs. Parent coaching for parents of neurodivergent children is offered. We work with all ages!

My clinical interests include grief and loss, anxiety, depression. and life transitions. I specialize in compassion fatigue, caregiver and chronic health support. Most of my work settings have included outpatient mental health centers, college centers, medical & psychiatric hospitals. I provide specialized care for women in ministry.
