We use a variety of techniques that are tailored to meet the needs of our clients with a special interest in self esteem/self worth issues, codependency, NPD & unconscious programming. Some individuals are unaware of limiting thoughts, beliefs & memories and stay stuck. Trapped trauma and unconscious programming plays a major role in mental & physical health problems as well as interpersonal relationships. In addition to psychotherapy we offer a unique & transformational experience called Zerobody Dry Flotation to aid and accelerate the healing process and to re program unconscious programming (one's blueprint of self and life).

It seems like everyone around you is smiling and enjoying life. How do they do it? They look so confident and carefree, while even the smallest task feels insurmountable to you. Just going about daily life is like climbing a mountain, yet never reaching the top. The moment your eyes open, anxiety and depression greet you, stalking you throughout the day. Your mind is full of criticism and self-doubt. Yet you keep your pain a secret, because you're mortified and ashamed. Besides, your life is no worse than anyone else’s, right? Would they believe you’re suffering -- or blame you for feeling so bad? Maybe you even blame yourself...

Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when you're concerned with not just your needs but that of your family. I am passionate about supporting caregivers in many forms- single parents, foster and adoptive parents, relative caregivers and all of the moms and dads out there. As cliche as it may sound, the concept of "putting on your own oxygen mask first" is so important when it comes to mental health. You deserve support, and that is what I want to offer. Whether you are working through anxiety, depression, work/life balances or processing your own traumas- I would love to help.

When your teenager first started playing their sport, you saw the joy it brought them. You witnessed their passion and creativity; you witnessed their growth and potential. Now, your child is on the brink of giving up something they love because of bad coaching, team culture, or challenges at home showing up on the field, court, or course. As a former Division 1 Athlete, I get it. I get the demands of high-level competition, and I get the stressors you and your child face as you navigate athletics with both the normal and extraordinary challenges of life.

Are you worried about your child? Struggling with meltdowns, crying, yelling, or even aggressive outbursts? As a parent it breaks your heart to see your child so overwhelmed by their feelings. You know they feel things very deeply, but the dramatic highs and lows are exhausting. You wish they could calm themselves down and cope with big feelings well. Seeing your child so upset makes you feel like a failure as a parent. You worry their behavior keeps them from making friends. You long for peace and harmony in your home. Every book or person has a different idea of how to help. You feel lost and confused on what to do next.

Things may feel hard right now, and you're not sure who to turn to. I know how hard it can be to feel overwhelmed with anxiety and stress. You might be looking to find emotional relief, a greater sense of joy in your life, connection with your loved ones, and control over your life. You may be experiencing multiple life changes. Maybe you are a parent of a preteen or teen who just seems to struggle with getting back into the swing of things at school and want them to have a trusted adult to talk to. I'm also trained in accelerated resolution therapy (ART), which I use to help people gain relief from unwanted thoughts and trauma.

Parenting Therapists

What does therapy for parenting look like?

Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?

When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?

Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?

Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
