I work with a wide range of clients and concerns. Anxiety, depression, past trauma, relationship struggles, and behavior difficulties in teens and children are among a few of the common issues I treat. I have several years of experience with play therapy as well as therapy with adults and teens. I see each client and their experiences as unique to them with their own needs and strengths. We help a wide range of clients. For children 4 years old and up, we have several clinicians that have been specially trained in play therapy to address issues specific to children. We also have clinicians that are trauma trained and can help adults and children heal from past trauma and begin to live life without carrying pain from the past. We work with parents and families who are struggling with life changes and relational hurts to heal and begin to communicate better. Women's issues, including birth trauma, infertility, and other past trauma are among our specialties. We offer canine assisted therapy and EMDR.

Therapy should not be complicated - it's really about sitting down and talking with another person without feeling judged, talked down to, or being told what to do. My goal is to provide safe, nurturing, and effective psychotherapy to adult, adolescents, children, and families. I use practical and individually tailored approaches. With children and teens my approach is relaxed and non-threatening. I often use play therapy techniques such as: games, art activities, and sand tray. With older teens, adults and families, I strive to create an atmosphere of teamwork that allows clients to educate me about their lives and they changes they want.

Dr. Heather Ingram, originally from Chicago, obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Argosy University in Schaumburg, Illinois. Throughout her training, Dr. Ingram worked in a variety of settings around Chicago including Elgin Mental Health Center on the Unfit to Stand Trial Unit, Bridge View-Challenger Therapeutic Day School, Women In Need Growing Stronger domestic violence shelter, and Gateway Foundation residential substance abuse treatment center. During her work in Boston, Dr. Ingram worked at Walden Behavioral Care eating disorder clinic, where she worked in inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care.
