Who knows what exactly makes a certain therapist right for a specific client? I think I'm most successful when I listen to the client's needs and see discrepancies in what clients want and how they're going about getting it. We can understand and resolve conflicts in career and in relationships by learning the old ways you adopted when you were a kid that don't work so well now. Let me know if you need help balancing day-to-day day challenges with big 'what-am-I-doing-with-my-life' questions.

Therapy can be life-changing. I know, because it saved my life. In private practice 26 years, I specialize in helping highly sensitive, intelligent, creative people who, counterintuitively by virtue of their gifts, can find life more challenging than most. Without a solid emotional foundation these gifts can lead to deep feelings of insecurity - personally and professionally. By using both traditional and cutting-edge tools, we'll eliminate your self-limiting beliefs and neutralize your negative conditioning. This rewarding process will be both enlightening and enjoyable, and will completely transform your day-to-day experience.

Hello and welcome! If you are struggling with identity issues, anxiety, depression, sexuality, self-esteem, life transitions, and/or relationship difficulties, I believe that we can work together towards healing, resolution, and growth. I work psychodynamically with individuals and couples who want to heal past traumas and pain in order to achieve greater self-awareness, acceptance, and freedom. I believe we are all greatly affected by childhood experiences and relationships, and by examining these we can create the space for greater clarity and growth both on an individual level and within current relationships.

Let's face it: Our world is incredibly chaotic right now. Our inability to control the circumstances can feel overwhelming at times. The good news is that when chaos arises, the opportunity for reflection and change becomes more urgent. My priority is to understand how your symptoms of anxiety and low self-esteem are affecting your relationships and overall sense of self. Once established, we can peel back the layers one by one and create some movement in your life and in your relationships.

I specialize in helping those who struggle with anxiety, depression, low-self esteem, relationship difficulties, and other symptoms of attachment trauma. If you struggle with making decisions, if you're not sure how to navigate relationships, or if you sometimes just feel "lost," therapy can be beneficial. Early attachment wounding can cause ruptures to one's sense of internal safety and identity formation, but we will work together to explore and process your thoughts and emotions in the safety of a corrective attachment experience - the therapeutic relationship itself.

Would you talk to your best friend the same way you talk to yourself? We're just way too hard on ourselves sometimes. Instead of focusing on what we’ve done right, we pick out all the small mistakes we make along the way, blowing them out of proportion. Don’t let these self-defeating thoughts define you. Low self-esteem and self-worth, feelings of guilt and shame, that sense of hopelessness…these can be counteracted to create confidence.

Are you struggling with anxiety and overwhelm? Does this sound familiar? You keep putting everyone else's needs before your own. You're always pushing yourself to your limits and holding yourself to a high standard. You overthink things and are tired. It doesn't have to be like this. I work with intuitive and deeply feeling women to help you reclaim your peace, find the confidence to ask for what you want, and stop feeling guilty for having wants and needs. If you are looking to heal, grow, and experience lasting change, I can help.

Higher self esteem, more pride, and less worry or fear.
As non-binary and trans folx we often find ourselves wondering "where do I belong in this world?" and "why can't I just be myself?" It seems like we've tried everything but we dont feel like we belong or we are in a safe place to live & work. We often wonder when its going to get better? When can I just live my life fully how I am? Sometimes we feel sad and it can be a very lonely place. We can even forget just how special and unique we are because we are so different and surrounded by those who just don't get it. We really want someone who can connect to us &make our experiences feel validated, reminding us that we are beautiful.

I have extensive experience in working with adults struggling with depression; grief and loss; anxiety; relationship conflict/divorce; loneliness; low self esteem; mid-life crises; addiction; creative blocks; fear of change/life transitions and aging issues, with a focus on supporting “dynamic” aging.
Deeply committed to personal growth myself, I know how hard it can be sometimes, how trapped we can feel when we find ourselves repeating painful patterns, unable to learn and grow from our life experiences or make the changes we need... That’s why I will provide you with a safe and supportive environment, a compassionate atmosphere free of judgment and shame as we explore and sort through what has brought you to this challenging turning point in your life… Everything you need to create a meaningful, fulfilling life is within you.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
