Some of the modalities I pull from include Internal Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-based, and I am trained in EMDR therapy.
Our lives are filled with so much unknown and mixed emotions. My goal is to help guide clients through this journey and get out of the feeling of being "stuck". I see all ages and have a passion for working with teens, young adults, and individuals struggling with anxiety, trauma, chronic illnesses, self-esteem, perfectionism, people pleasing, and/or relationship conflicts. I enjoy taking a collaborative and empathetic approach with my clients to best provide a safe and open space to explore whether it be their first time in therapy or visiting again.

My approach is depth oriented & integrative, drawing from attachment-based, psychodynamic, experiential modalities.
It is often in the darkest corners of ourselves that we find the brightest hope. Love, joy and belonging start within us while pain and disconnection come from learning through adverse experiences to hide, deny, and reject who we are. By reconnecting with and learning to love our authentic selves, we can experience more inner peace and healthy relationships. Exploring the places inside of us we have long ignored can be scary, but it is not a journey we must embark on alone. Therapy has been a vital part of my healing; I hope to be able to share it with you.

I utilize evidence-based approaches in my work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples/families, drawing upon techniques originating in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (including exposure-based therapies), Emotion-Focused Therapy, and attachment-based approaches to therapy (including those involving mentalization). I specialize in anxiety, trauma, eating/weight, or relationship issues, and adopt an individualized, culturally sensitive approach with each client. I view therapy as an opportunity for the client to share, to learn, and to grow through a close connection.

My approach uses an attachment-based lens with an emphasis on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
I work with individuals and couples to deepen their connection to themselves and others. Relational distress, depression, anxiety, and trauma are some of the issues that can get in the way of feeling connected to oneself and others. No one should have to go through these experiences alone. Together, I will walk alongside you and explore how to lessen their effects while healing the bond you have with yourself and your closest ones. My priority is a strong therapeutic relationship based on safety and empathy. My hope is that the individuals I work with feel seen, heard, valued, and supported.

Since 2016, I have worked with a variety of populations in different clinical settings. Through my diverse experiences, I have come to appreciate the many backgrounds, stories and struggles that each client brings to therapy. My eclectic approach values that therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” process. I am committed to understanding who you are, how you got here and where you want to be, so that I can tailor our sessions to meet your specific needs. I creatively integrate various treatment modalities including client-centered, mindfulness, CBT, and attachment-based therapy.

My intervention modalities include: cognitive behavioral, trauma-focused, EMDR, family systems, interpersonal, solution-focused, and attachment-based.
At time, life provides us with the opportunities that enable us to grow and accomplish. However, at times it also presents itself in the form of a challenge. These life events can take a toll on our mental health and leave us feeling hopeless, unmotivated, lost, and stuck. I am passionate and confident in my ability to make a difference in the life of my clients. Having been through many touch patches myself, I understand well the importance of regaining one's own sense of purpose, strength, and dignity. I have experiences working with both children and adults using individual and family therapy modalities.

Through an attachment-based and person-centered perspective, I offer clients a safe, empathic, and honest place to connect with themselves and build the skills to connect with others in a meaningful way.
I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and identity issues. Many of my clients find themselves in the role of caretaker, often as a result of past experiences or trauma, and end up feeling depleted and resentful in their relationships. I help clients learn to wade through the noise and connect to their authentic selves, which helps them healthily connect to others.

So being a parent has turned out to be a lot harder than you anticipated. The delivery didn't go as planned, the baby isn't eating enough, and don't get me started on the journey that is breastfeeding. No matter where you turn, people have ideas on how you should do things differently. Everyone has opinions but at the end of the day, it's just you, your baby, and your thoughts of inadequacies in the middle of the night.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
