One of the bravest things we can do in life is to seek help when we need it most. It can be difficult to carry our struggles alone, and a true relief to have someone help to hold them. I work with clients experiencing a range of concerns including trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, school or career issues, navigating parenting, life transitions, family conflict, identity development, discrimination, and existential distress. No matter what is bringing you to therapy right now, the key is a desire and readiness to evolve and to grow. This is what can lead to true healing, and the discovery of your full potential.

I work with clients who are experiencing low self esteem and anxiety, who are ready to create a relationship with themselves and the world from a place of security and authenticity. Using a trauma-informed, and somatic-based approach, I aim to support your innate capacity to heal by uplifting your strengths and prioritizing your internal sense of safety and belonging. By utilizing interpersonal, and body-based practices to help self-soothe, you can build resilience in the face of challenge and overwhelm, feel more connected, and build secure, compassionate relationships with yourself, your past, and others.

Seeking help when things don't feel quite right takes courage. Sometimes we don't know exactly what's blocking us, other times that thing is too big for us to ignore. I’m grateful that you decided to listen to yourself and have chosen this path to boost your support. I'm rooting for you. My hope is that together we can uncover significant ways for you to continue rising into your best self, define your wholeness, and audaciously live your truth. The essence of my approach is warm and genuinely focused on facilitating, identifying, and assisting clients address goals that are meaningful to them.

Damaged relationships with the world and our families can affect us deeply throughout our lives leaving us feeling isolated, uncomfortable in our bodies and generally unsafe. Our energy begins to decline along with our enthusiasm for life. Its confusing. We quietly stonewall everything and everyone while wishing for the right partner, right career and right friends. Feelings of insecurity, loneliness or shame can spiral into deep bouts of depression, acting out, despair and suicide. Prioritizing the needs of everyone else can lead to unhealthy behaviors and choices supplanting authenticity and joy, while swapping virtual reality for real relationships and happiness.

As a Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker, I strive to support people as they navigate life's changes and challenges. Doing so alone is not easy, and I strongly believe everyone deserves a safe, containing space to work through what may be weighing heavy on their hearts and minds. My work has primarily focused on individuals and families experiencing anxiety, depression, acute stress, relational challenges, and trauma. These varied experiences have taught me that a meaningful therapist-client relationship is essential to effective therapeutic work, which I build through a warm, relational style and a touch of humor.

I work with adolescents, adults, and couples seeking insight, self-knowledge, and healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Many of my clients are immigrants or children of immigrants from families where mental health and therapy are not routine topics of conversation. Coming to therapy can feel strange and intimidating. I strive to provide a warm and supportive space for clients to face the things in their lives that are distressing, to confront painful aspects of themselves and their pasts, and make positive and lasting changes.

Therapy is a deeply personal experience and there are as many reasons to seek therapy as there are people who seek it. Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or shame. You may have suffered traumas or losses and are wondering how these shape your thoughts, feelings and relationships. Maybe you simply have a sense that aspects of your life are not coming together in the ways you desire. Therapy is a space to explore these curiosities, to develop insight into your self, and, ultimately, to find greater fulfillment in your work, relationships, and play.

I use these modalities, with a relational approach and a trauma informed lens, to help build a safe and empathetic therapeutic relationship.
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with Core Insights Psychological Group, Inc. and supervised by Dr. Gregory Gayle. Finding the right therapist fit is critical to a positive therapy experience. I seek to meet my clients where they are, and work to help them understand what they want to get out of the therapy process, and what healing or managing mental health challenges means for them as an individual. My goal is to support clients by providing a safe space for them to navigate challenges without judgment, and understand their own unique strengths so they can take charge of writing their life stories.

I believe that healing is a process of letting go of what is not us - our learned ways of coping with life - so that our essence may express itself in the world more freely. Through following the wisdom of the body and spirit, a safe therapy relationship supports the organic movement towards wholeness that is waiting to unfold. I work with adults and children to help increase their felt sense of safety in their bodies and to support mental and emotional well-being. Together we can understand how early experiences create templates for relationship, and learn to shift and transform what no longer serves you.

It's a courageous step to seek help. Things aren't working and perhaps you are looking for a new way, new strategies and perspective. You need relief from this angst. The surprise here is that your pain, frustration or relationship conflict can also be an asset. I am not suggesting minimizing your emotional suffering nor the importance of us finding immediate relief. My experience is that in facing your difficulties we can move towards enduring change. How does change happen in therapy? In my work with clients we identify some of the stories you have been telling yourself.

Therapy with me will have you leaving my office with tangible ways, for you or you and your loved ones, to facilitate changes in what you want in your life from the very first session. I will challenge you hard but with compassion. I enjoy helping people develop an enthusiasm for the process of self-discovery and healing. I make authentic contact with people help them cultivate a taste for their own Truths while making space to grieve the loss of old ways or relating to people and the world around them. I see starting therapy is a sign of intelligence.

The world needs helpers, just like you. But when your life gets stressful and overwhelming, where do you turn? You nurture others. You put your heart into your relationships and your work, but sometimes it starts to feel like it's too much. Like you're exhausted and unable to take some time for yourself.

The combination of strong anxiety and strong intellect poses special challenges for those caught in the crosshairs. I help individuals with active, analytical minds to work through anxiety-related problems such as panic, worry, avoidance, and compulsive thoughts or habits. My approach is warm, practical, and evidence-based, grounded in both mindfulness and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Do you feel alone in your emotions and challenges? Do negative thoughts, anxieties and worries sometimes seem uncontrollable and overwhelming? Or maybe you are curious about how your past experiences may be showing up in your present life. Grief, anxiety and life transitions can cause us to feel so many uncomfortable, difficult feelings that at times feel unbearable. As the world turns on, it can be difficult to find the time to understand how life's ups and downs impact how we show up for ourselves and others every day. Therapy is a great way to broaden this understanding.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
