I love working with a wide range of people from young adults to seniors, and work with individuals, couples and families. I am LGBTQIA friendly and love working with diverse populations. I have had various jobs in helping professions for almost twenty years, and since 2012 have counseled adults, families and couples. I love seeing people have renewed hope and vitality in their lives.

I have been in this field of psychotherapy for 25 years. I tend to be more pragmatic, excelling in the "Now What?" stage. I am solution-focused and action-oriented providing applicable skills and cognitive understanding. I have worked in two different private practices since my graduation from Seattle Pacific University back in 2006 before I started my own here in Edmonds, WA. I work with clients within an attachment-based/relational framework, which posits that healing and transformation occurs through a safe, authentic, empathically attuned, and responsive therapeutic relationship. From this framework, I tend to integrate several different approaches to therapy. Common to each approach is an emphasis on increasing self-awareness and understanding of yourself, which includes your emotional and relational needs and how you go about trying to meet those needs in either helpful or unhelpful ways.

I will help you to have more meaningful relationships in life, utilize your talents and abilities more fully, maintain a more truthful and accurate self-esteem, have more satisfying sexual relationships, understand yourself and others in a more meaningful way, and face life's challenges with greater freedom and flexibility. My specialty is relational psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and groups which aids in transformation for most issues in life: grief, loss, anxiety, depression and transition, to name a few. I provide psychotherapy and counseling services to adults, adolescents, and couples. In the framework of authentic therapeutic dialogue and connection, I honor the strengths and uniqueness of each client in the context of their life experience, and work to support them in creating the change they seek. My approach is client centered and flexible to best meet the needs of each client and their particular situation while being largely informed by an integration of Gestalt and mindfulness, as well as humanistic and attachment perspectives.

My therapy style blends the use of a compassionate and non-judgmental approach. I see clients who have a history of trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, grief, codependency, and perfectionism issues. I help clients achieve freedom from limiting beliefs, compulsions, and emotional distress. I create a sacred and safe space for you to share your story with me and to be vulnerable in your therapy.
