My orientation is mostly psychodynamic, I also practice mindfulness techniques as a way for you to stay present, engaged, and anxiety free. I am supportive but will challenge you to work hard to get the most out of treatment. I have trained in university counseling centers, state hospitals, and veterans' hospitals, treating people with a range of presenting problems and diagnoses, from everyday stressors to severe and persistent mental illness.
I conducted my doctoral research on multiculturalism in psychotherapy. I am particularly attuned to understanding and working within your cultural value system, rather than imposing mine on the therapy framework. I will work hard to understand where you are coming from and what values are most important to you.
