If you can relate, I am so glad you are here. I specialize with children and teens, ages 3-18, who have a history of trauma or attachment wounding. I see everything through the lens of attachment and trauma, and I am a big believer in meeting the needs of the body and brain. With their brains still developing, kids can't fully process their experiences using words-- that's why I use play therapy! I also creatively adapt EMDR for children using toys & art. And I am so passionate about what I do. :)
My goal is to provide a safe, fun, warm, & non-judgmental space for your kiddo to feel, heal, learn, and grow. I am a Registered Play Therapist, TBRI Practitioner and Florida Adoption Competent Therapist. Parent Group: Building a Strong Parent-Child Bond
Our practice, Kimball Counseling Associates (KCA), holds 8-week online parent groups several times each year for parents of children and teenagers. The purpose is to build attachment/connection with your child/teen while learning how to discipline effectively without being punitive. The group is based in empirically-evidenced Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). You will learn the skills a play therapist utilizes in session and have the opportunity to become more attuned to those you love and care for.
