Life’s challenges are inevitable. I aim to help each client navigate these difficulties through a shift in their relationship with unpleasant thoughts and feelings. As Jon Kabat-Zinn says, "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf." As a therapist, I bring kindness, curiosity, and humor. Clients who have benefited most from working with me are inquisitive, and open to trying new exercises in therapy.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based therapy incorporating mindfulness and perspective-taking. As the name suggests, ACT is about accepting what is outside of personal control and committing to action that improves your life.
I am committed to meeting you where you're at, in a non-pathologizing manner. With more than a dozen years of experience as a clinical social worker in a variety of settings, I welcome new clients and look forward to connecting with you. I am currently accepting clients with day-time availability.
