One of life's most important processes is the act of forgiveness -- a process which rids us of self-loathing and bitterness so that we won't live in constant anguish.
Counseling is a way to work on forgiveness. It's like talking with a friend, but your privacy is guaranteed, while the therapist provides clarity and objectivity. As your therapist, I don't "just sit there and listen." I'm present and empathic, using professional listening skills for comforting insight and feedback.
Fully engaging with my clients allows me to offer genuine thoughts and opinions. I'm also willing to initiate and respond to uncomfortable topics during a session, when appropriate.
