Our practice is dedicated to serving marginalized and diverse people, especially LGBTQ+ individuals. We provide gender transition-related support, including referral letters for hormones and surgeries when needed. People are often nervous about their first therapy session. If that's you, take a deep breath, and imagine what you could get out of therapy! Almost everyone feels more relaxed by the end of the first session. It just takes getting started.
Erin Biesecker (she/they), is a queer therapist pursuing a doctorate in psychology at the University of Louisville. She uses a relational-cultural approach that examines both interpersonal and larger cultural factors. They practice cultural humility, in which they regularly reflect on their biases and seek out interactions with marginalized populations.
Erin is pursuing a career working with LGBTQ+ people in a practice that both empowers and validates wellbeing in a heteronormative society while supporting the LGBTQ+ community at large. In her doctorate program, she is working on research improving assessment tools for minority stress related to LGBTQ+ identities.

Gender Affirmative Therapy Group
For people who are transgender, nonbinary, and other diverse gender identities, social stigma, transition uncertainties, and emerging emotions can be hard to handle. You're not alone. This is a process group, meaning we will be attuned to the interpersonal dynamics. We will create a safe, confidential environment together where you can share thoughts and feelings you may have not felt comfortable enough to share elsewhere. You may gain something surprising, like confidence, closeness, insights, or perspectives. All are welcome from any stage of transition/questioning. Next group will start August, 2024.
