I am inspired by the lives of so many who have overcome mental, emotional and relational difficulties to live full and meaningful lives. My desire is to create a safe and comfortable environment for clients to explore the issues in their lives that have brought them to therapy. I believe in the transformative power of insight, compassion, mindfulness and acceptance that creates positive and meaningful change.
For more than 15 years, I have helped clients work through substance abuse, childhood and adult trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I have had the privilege of working with combat veterans, which has developed in me a passion for the veteran community and first-responders.
My training in EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, and CPT - three evidenced based practices for the treatment of trauma; Mindfulness, CBT, ACT, and Psychodynamic processing all inform my practice. Using these methods, I tailor each session to meet the client where they are.
