I am an experienced psychotherapist who has worked with adults of all ages dealing with relationship problems, life adjustment, eating disorders, weight/body image issues, mood disorders, addictive disorders, acute/chronic illness and work problems/conflicts.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is my foundation to understand emotional and behavioral obstacles that interfere with relationships and well-being. I combine this foundation with cognitive-behavorial techniques to help develop successful strategies to deal with many external or internal barriers leading to increased self-esteem and the ability to cope with life changes or conflicts.
As a trained mediator, partners develop skills of negotiation/compromise. My approach in couples therapy enables each partner to bring their best selves to the relationship. Mediation enhances my work in conflict resolution at the work place. My experience treating individuals with eating disorders is enhanced by volunteering at the National Eating Disorders Association.
