When anxiety becomes overwhelming, it interferes with relationships, confidence, and the ability to perform your best. Breaking the avoidance, overthinking, checking and self-doubt cycle is possible. I take a warm and enthusiastic approach in guiding the therapeutic process for adults living with OCD, panic attacks, phobias, illness anxiety, sports performance anxiety, skin picking and hair pulling. I have over 11 years of counseling experience and 20 years in the mental health field. My work now focuses on helping adults, athletes, university students, and working professionals overcome obsessive worry and return to valued living.
I utilize evidence based interventions including exposure & response prevention (ERP) for the treatment of OCD and anxiety, as well as ACT and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I incorporate mindfulness based techniques, skill development, and at times a little humor to encourage and support clients to face their fears and build confidence.
I take a collaborative, goal-oriented, and non-judgmental approach to help clients cope with challenges and make meaningful adjustments. I take time to explore each individual's values to establish counseling goals. My hope is that each individual I work with feels understood in the therapeutic process and empowered to make important and impactful changes.
