Struggles are a normal part of life and sometimes we get stuck. I create a safe, comfortable environment for my clients that facilitates healing and growth. I value the relational connections that are developed through counseling. Working hand in hand with my clients, we combine my training and experience with their expertise about who they are, what brought them in and where they want to go. I help people find comfort in their emotions, equipping them with skills and insight in order to manage and benefit from them, rather than be controlled by them.
Much of my experience has been working with individuals, couples and families in broken or struggling relationships to improve or restore their emotional bonds. I have extensive training in and experience with Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy.
Working from a person-centered approach, I utilize evidenced-based therapies, integrating interventions to equip my clients with new coping tools, as well as insight into the origins of their difficulties that have led to distorted thinking, biased beliefs and ineffective behaviors. I also integrate the latest findings on brain science.
